Mulholland Drive

Hellraisers of bad boy drive
There is a long, winding road in Hollywood that snakes through one of the area’s prettiest and most desolate hillsides. A legendary beauty spot, full of hiking trails and millionaires’ residences, it’s called Mulholland Drive – officially, at any rate.

Its unofficial nickname is Bad Boy Drive, thanks to the trio of hell-raising stars who made it their home for three decades. Marlon Brando and Jack Nicholson shared the same driveway and lived in homes just a few minutes apart, while their friend Warren Beatty was a few houses away.

Holland Park is a 54-, 55-acre non-royal London park with a castle, wood, and Japanese Kyoto garden. When King Henry VIII seized various parcels of land for his deers, Holland Park was not on the list and there were 8 royal parks in London.

The King's Garden in Copenhagen - sometimes referred to as Rosenborg Garden - was laid out during the reign of King Christian IV in connection to his pleasure Palace.

The gardens are the country's oldest royal gardens and were established in the Renaissance style by Christian IV in the early 1600's. Today the gardens are a popular retreat in the centre of Copenhagen, and are visited by an estimated 2.5 million people per year.

King’s Cross/St. Pancras in London has undergone amazing transformation during the first two decades of the millennium from a neglected neighborhood around an antiquated railway hub into a thriving area surrounding a redesigned terminus of the High Speed 1 Chunnel rail line.

Sophie’s Choice was one of the three films that featured an Oscar-winning performance by Meryl Streep.
"This is so ugly. Why did you bring me this?" said Dino de Laurentiis in Italian while, Streep [auditioning for King Kong] retorted, "I'm very sorry that I'm not as beautiful as I should be, but, you know - this is it. This is what you get.''

I thouroughly enjoyed her film about the river of no return I think, which co-starred Kevin Bacon.

The River Wild, shot in the Pacific Northwest in 1993, features @r2473 ‘s roll model Kevin as the bad guy trying to escape via a whitewater rafting expedition after an armed robbery.

Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon Separation is a great game to play! Can you get from The River Wild to another film, Apocalypse Now, that features a wild river trip??? I can be your guide if you wish!

Just like Kevin said, I'm good at a couple of things but I'm not good at playing this game. I practically have to google the 'Bacon Number'.

You’re no fun!:

Apocalypse Now featured a very young Lawrence Fishburne, who was in The Matrix with Keanu Reeves, who co-starred with Patrick Swayze in Point Break after starring in Dirty Dancing with Jerry Orbach, who was partner with Benjamin Bratt on Law & Order after being one of Kevin Bacon’s victims in The River Wild.

No fun is when a woman in a bikini with sunglasses bump into a woman in an enveloping burkha and at the back of their respective minds say, 'poor woman, she's covered all over except her eyes'; 'poor woman, she's practically naked except her eyes'.

Inside ‘Solo’: A ‘Star Wars’ Story’s Bumpy Ride to the Big Screen
By KRISTOPHER TAPLEY
The hackneyed industry catchphrase “creative differences” has been enlisted countless times over the decades to describe Hollywood productions gone amok, prompting a change in the director’s chair. The modern “Star Wars” series has not been immune: More than half of Lucasfilm’s recent efforts have suffered through episodes of filmmaker upheaval.

But the latest installment, “Solo: A Star Wars Story,” due out May 25, upstaged them all when the production veered off the rails so spectacularly that it forced filming to grind to a halt after four months. With mere weeks left on the shooting schedule, producer Kathleen Kennedy fired directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller and hired veteran Ron Howard to right the ship.

Suddenly, the Oscar-winning director of 2001’s “A Beautiful Mind,” who along with his Imagine Entertainment partner Brian Grazer has overseen dozens of features, was tasked with the daunting job of overhauling the embattled franchise spinoff. Howard shot about 70% of “Solo,” thus earning him sole director credit on the movie, with Lord and Miller receiving executive producer acknowledgments. With the reshoots, the movie wound up costing more than $250 million.

Ron Howard has many identities I associate with him, from pre-teen Opie from Mayberry to teenage Steve in American Graffiti to another teenager Richie Cunningham in Happy Days. His directorial resume is also quite diverse with blockbusters, historical dramas, mystery thrillers and comedies. He also passed some of that cinematic talent along to actress daughters Paige and Bryce Dallas Howard. Who can ever forget BDH as Tilly in The Help, who eats a slice of some very special pie made by her cook Minny???

Lana Del Rey has a home in San Diego's North County, as well as Venice, so she can get off at the races with the Maestro in Del Mar.

According to the [made-up] Punter's bible, any Lana del Rey trained fat turtle-thoroughbred will give punters great value odds because the race is typically wide open.
