World Team Set to Dominate Laver Cup and Euriatrics for Years to Come

With Fed two points away from complete defeat against Kyrgios at 8-6 in the superbreaker, it's not hard to see the World team dominating for years to come with Sock unstoppable as their doubles specialist.

Thiemerev are the future of the Euro team and they are terrible at doubles.

The NextGen race shows the imminent domination of the top of the game by the world players:

Thiemerev and Coric not the core for greatness while the world team has the likes of:
1. Kyrgios
2. Sock
3. Kokkinakis
4. Tiafoe
5. Shavopalov
6. FAA (Felix Auger Aliassime)
7. Rublev and the rest of the Russian contingent

Unless the Laver Cup moves to clay, team Europe will have a hard time defending. Sure the big 5 might come out of the grave for next year to power team Europe, but doubtful the Euriatrics keep the World team at bay.o_O

Glad you're threading again. Welcome back. :)

I don't disagree with you that the tables could turn just like that.

However, something I've been pondering w/r/t the seemingly arbitrary team formation... Planet currently hosts about 7.5 billion peeps. Give or take half of those are male. So, 3.75 billion fellas worldwide.

Europe's population is approx. 743 million. 372 m. (rounding up) men from which to draw.

Not-Europe's male population, then? 3,750,000,000 - 372,000,000 = 3,378,000,000.

So, N-E has more than nine times as many people from which to draw.

Obviously, not all will play tennis. But with Asia getting motivated, my question is how long until China v. All becomes a total mismatch, favoring the Orient.

In 20 years they will have to change it to China vs The World

Been watching as much as I can, but some big projects and was resorting it up in the Redwoods during Laver Cup for a long weekend, but managed to catch the last three matches (early morning here).:p When the tennis gets too good I'm watching with friends and family and not posting so much.

Long term they're going to have to switch the country mix and probably include Russia with Europe perhaps. Russia makes up 39% of Europe:eek:, but 75% of Russia is in Asia.

Beginning to suspect that Rublev and friends will be part of Euro team for Laver Cup.
