Worst match between two players in which both played badly that you ever saw?

In all of your time watching tennis, what would you say was the worst match you saw between two players in which both played awful tennis?

As a result, you can't include a lopsided match in which one player had a great match and simply outplayed another player.

It has to be two players who just played average or below average tennis no matter how long the match lasted or how many sets it took.

You can include any events that you want.

Honestly, I know this recency bias but Zverev Gerasimov was absolutely atrocious. Simon-Monfils Wimbledon. Ferrer-Murray Miami. I'm sure there are worse ones but random first rounders are hard to remember. I was at Witten vs. Gonzalez USO 09 and I remember it being some of the worst tennis I'd ever seen.

Nadal – Delbonis yesterday was actually one of the worst BO5 matches I’ve watched from the beginning till the end, lol.

Kvitova v Laura Robson AO, at least one double fault per game. While the ballstriking was good, both players were following the old adage "hit the ball hard and if it doesnt go in hit it harder" 30 double faults and over 90 unforced errors in the match.

:eek::eek::eek: simon vs monfils, AO 2009, R16 :eek::eek::eek:
absolutely atrocious pushing contest...
most of tennis fandom was decimated within a few hours... only a few of us survived, but we're not the same people we used to be, obviously. :unsure:
(monfils couldn't stand it anymore either... he had to give up)

PS: it led to this post... :D
The Simon Monfils match ruined a whole day for me. I remember my girlfriend had finally agreed to watch a tennis match with me and sure enough what match was on the television when we were about to settle in a watch..Simon Monfils. It took me nearly three months to convince her tennis was really not that boring...when the match ended cause of Monfils retiring needless to say a movie went on and she did not want to watch anymore tennis....I hate those two men to this date.

:D

The next round loss to Djokor while exciting wasn't exactly a model of quality tennis either. It was fun to watch Witten play. He looked like he walked on from the public courts outside in the park.

This match was a s***show

Monfils looked dead and so did Novak but he looked less dead despite it being his second match back after 6 months

Federer vs Marty Fish, 2008 IW semis. I figured Fed was done after this one. Fish served under 40% for the whole match, yet Federer wouldn’t break him once. It was sick. Fed was owned badly. And yet, Fish sucked too. I don’t recall his exact 1st serve percentage. But I remember it being below 40%. It’s as though both players were trying to tank that match.
