One of the worst strings I have ever tried is the Toalson Nylontour pro, that ugly blue string.
Terrible terrible terrible string, way tooo soft, no control at all, no spin at all!.
What's you worst string you have ever tried?

I once tried an old Babolat string that had a pearl, slippery coating on it. I got no spin. It was terrible.

besides poly's and kevlar ;0, wilson nxt tour was just aweful the 2x i tred it. dead spots in the stringbed in places and hot spots in others and a very unpredictable response. maybe i had a bad batch. the stuff is made in france and i bet technifibre sells it to wilson and rids themselves of bad string :)

My worst was two sets of Gamma TNT....the longest lasting of the two sets made it about 40 minutes before it broke.

I'd say Gamma Synthetic gut WHITE (dead feel), Prince Wrapsure, wilson sensation original. Many people like sensation, but it didn't feel good at all to me.

hmm, I guess I'm not the only one who thinks the Gamma synthetic
gut goes dead quickly. Although I'm not sure if it's the worst string
I've ever tried, it went dead pretty quickly. First few hours was fine,
though.....

Global nat gut(crap string...broke in my bag) and the Head RIP(dead, no feel) strings are the worst I ever tried. I also hated LUX TiMo(extremely harsh feeling).

Combat Nylon 15 ga. when I lived in Cancun 24 yrs. ago it was all you could get; until you went to the states or Mexico City.

good 'ol Prince Synthetic Gut w/Duraflex. IMO Leonia 66/77 feel like gut to me compared to that crap. Really at a loss as to why people use it. The old (pre-DFlex) PSG was WAY better.

Also...HEAD RIP Ti Fiber. EGAADS!

gamma sythentic gut. not bc of the feel which was mediocre but bc the string lasted about 1 hour and I went a reel in about 3 weeks by myself. this is weird bc i usually break syn gut in about 4 hours

Namsung Motive is the cheapest I've ever tried. 1.5 dollars for a string was good but I don't wanna use it again

Sounds like ATP Tour Synthetic Gut 16? Around 1997, I thought it would be like a nice plain synthetic gut ATP-ized, ha. For packaging, it came in this hard box, how fitting.

Vollmer Boris Becker Super String--it's a multifiliment that is just TOO soft. TF 515 and Prince MORE Feel seem like poly's when compared to this string. And, it ain't cheap either.

More Bad String

Hi,

I am just going to second a few. Prince SGD.. the orginal is much better. NXT Tour.. Ed.. that was not a bad batch.. it was all a bad batch.. played great for me for 2 hitting sessions.. then acted the same (dead spots/hot spots.. thought I was going crazy...) as you stated. I remember.. cutting the string out right on the court during a match.. I was so pissed. Ahhhh Gaines.. the Gobal "Premium".. whatever gut. Yikes.. the worst. Have a good one all.

Gamma Edge 20, that hybrid of Piano wire and nylon. It played ok, but it weighed so much it changed the balance of the racket and every hit sent a shock wave up the handle through my arm and body.

Babolat Attraction Power 17: too slick and "plasticy" feeling, no bite on the ball, also not very durable.

Pro Blend hurt my arm and is horrible, didn't give me extra bite and never breaks..

Finally settled on proper a braided ashaway kevlar thinest gauge 18g.

For me without a doubt the Ashway Liberty is just crap. Way too soft, no feeling, way to much power and tension loss was so much that you could almost see the string losing tension.

All Babolat VS natural guts! They suck! :) j/k.

Head Rip Control is way crappy like someone here said. No elasticity with dead feeling. "dead feeling"? contradictory phrase.

On the recommendation of a friend of mine, I played a set with Pro Blend in a K90 and I thought I needed to put my arm in a sling afterwards. It may be the worst prepackaged hybrid on the market.

The sweet spot felt like it was dime sized. Every stroke felt like I framed the ball.

i'm no string expert and haven't tried many strings, but i couldn't agree more. PSGD is bad!
