Would anyone like to sell their Federer Limited edition N90?

A while back there was the craze about the Limited edition N90's that came out only in japan. Does anyone have one and want to sell it since federer is getting a new racquet soon?

I don't have this racket, but I've never heard of it before. Does it play/look different than the ordinary N90? Just curious.

This racket differs from the normal N90 in two ways :

a) it has the federer signature on the throat

b) it has the custom Federer stringpattern that is featured on the K90...i.e. the crosses are more spaced out at the sweetspot to allow for more spin.

.....the racket also came with half a set of Alu Power rough and half a set of gut and card that said how Fed strings his rackets.

its a nice collectors item...

Actually there were 2 places selling, Japan and Korea. I have 2, one strung and another one still in plastic. I bought thru the bay & from a Korean seller. The seller told me it was a special memorial batch ordered to Fed/Sampras's exhibition match. I'm not trying to emphasize the uniqueness because of the cost paid then (more than the SV 85 nowadays) but I can say the feel is more close to ps85 than any other 90 versions. Very solid though the weight distribution is more like the T90 but a bit less at the throat. I have all versions of ps85, T/N/K90s, the signature version is my favorite second to ps85.

dcheung....thanks for the informative post....its awesome that you have two of those of beauties.

I always had a feeling that the special edition N90 had a custom lay-up/weight distribution similar to the PS 85.....and judging by what you say this confirms it.

Anyway enjoy playing with those sticks....any chance you could post a couple of pics?

cheers

Oh yes I remember - it was supposed to come in a velvet box or something with a certificate of authenticity

Is this still available in Japan?

Is this still available in Japan? Anyone know how much is it (in US $)?

My nephew lives in Kobe and will be traveling back to Vancover BC/ Canada for X'mas to visit his family. I'm thinking of asking him to get me a copy if it is still available.

Also, can someone please post pics! (so I can let my nephew know what it look like - he's not into tennis so pics will help).

I was told the Signature version was only kevlar and graphite construction. Even though all 90s were labeled 340g, you can feel the the 'solidity' and 'weight' just like holding a SV ps85. I even have to trim the bumper part (approxi. 3g) to make it's head more mobile.

My package from Korea racquet only, nothing else.

Occasionally there's one or two seller on the bay still post this version but only in grip 2 size. The price is $4xx something.

The retail price (considering the currency exchange) was just about $300 each is what i remember.

Well everyone, there isn't much of a point in going to look for these anymore. Everyone else is hyped for the new sampras and federer racquets. I think people can forget about these easily

Yep, I have seen that version. It has 4 holes in PWS. Regular retail version had 5 holes...

I have 5 of this as collection.. It plays a little bit more difference than the regular N90 and the new K90.. Somehow it gives more pop and spin with the racquet than the retail version.. The only reason I don't use it often b/c it's quite expensive.. It came out in Japan for $500USD.. I've bought average price is about $650/each.. (as high as $800USD and as low as $450USD)..

WOW - VERY Nice SET! Even came with the embroidered sack and trophy key chain. Its a real collector's item.

Wonder if the specs is this model was the closes spec to what Fed's is/was using.

THANKS for sharing GG!

What I don't understand is why they'd go through the trouble of changing string pattern in the PWS section w/o modifying the grip/throat area as well. The grip pallet is still as long as the original unlike Federer's whose is shorter and has a longer space b/t grip and throat like on the K90/PS85

Thanks for the pictures, GasquetGOAT! That is a terrific collector's item and I'll never get tired of the paintjob. Too bad it wasn't sold in the States too :)
