Would Fed Have Defaulted if YE #1 was at Stake?

Obviously if you're not physcially able to play it shouldn't matter what's at stake but it sure makes you wonder if he would have defaulted if he still had had the opportunity to finsih the season at number 1.

OMG. Enough of these GD threads! Let's just leave it and say he's injured. If there's anybody out there that's still stupid enough to believe he's healthy then they have vision or denial problems.

Again?

He couldn't move appropriately today nor hit a backhand as he should, how do you think his back was before that final?

OP, here are some more threads that you can open :

Would Fed have defaulted if he was a Serbian ?

Would Fed have defaulted if he was a lefty ?

Would Fed have defaulted if they played the WTF at Basel ?

Would Fed have defaulted if he was 23 instead of 33 ?

Would Fed have defaulted if he had married Jelena instead of Mirka ?

Would Fed have defaulted if he didn't have any kids ?

Would Fed have defaulted if he didn't have a spine ?

It doesn't really matter. He's not 100% and that's that. I hope you guys see how we feel though when Nadal is clearly hurt and stirring the pot is more fun. I don't see anything funny about a players injuries.

My point exactly, don't wanna hear it. It's not for you to say, any more than another Joe Blow on here is to say when Federer is or isn't.

I have not questioned Fed's injury at all, but Fed fans really had this backlash coming to them. They're gonna need to learn to brush it off like we have had to.

I sometimes am sympathetic to your situation.

Nadal camp has brought upon you so much BS that it is hardly possible to distinguish when they are telling the truth and when they are playing their usual games.

But, make no mistake.

Nadal and his team has speculated with the injury card as much as he was really injured.

Federer's situation is completely different and the only thing the two camps of supporters have to deal with to the same degree is the flack they get from their "opponents". I guess that is what you meant to say as I (we) see it when Federer is injured. It is confirmed by the way he plays.

What a lot of poasters say here is NOT against the players, its only reactions to spite other poasters. Perhaps, over a period of time, the hate or malice or frustration overflows onto the players too, whom they have never spoken to or had contact with.

It's like someone here recently saying he wanted Murray to lose only to spite a certain Murray fan. Each fan base claims the other started it, and they are only dishing it back.

I am, because 1) I play tennis (as opposed to 90% of the posters in the General Pro Player section) and 2) am working in the medical field

Neither of those two criteria qualify you to make a judgement as to whether or not any player is injured.

I played tennis until back problems prevented me from doing so and I have a medical background, but I would never attempt to make such a judgement. If a players says he/she is hurting, then he/she is the one who knows.

Yes, they do.

You cannot know their exact condition or the extend, to which their problems are stopping them from doing what they do, but you can actually SEE if there is a problem with their normal play (if you have watched them long enough to actually know how they play and you know your tennis).

Unless it is psychosomatic. Some of them just need a placebo .
