Would Kim have won the French had she played

Does anyone think this could have been Kim Clijsters's year to win the French had she played? Obviously Henin or Serena arent going to win the French this year. Stosur is someone she would probably think she has a good shot against even with how well she is playing. Kim is a pretty good clay courter and seemed in good form before her injury.

Then again alot thought she had a good shot to win the Australian. Not just TW folks but betting people and experst on the game, yet she flopped miserably there. And that was on her favorite surface. So who knows.

I think her chances would have been decent to win though given that Henin didnt dominate the event as expected.

Possibly, but Kim is an enigma. She can come and play lights out, and then she can come out and get slapped around the court. Hard to say, but even with these unexpected finalists I'm glad she isn't here. I did fine without hearing the commentators slobbering all over her.

If she was in the bottom half of the draw for sure. That half was really lacking and Kim would have had a cakewalk IMO. And of course her chances against Stosur would be much better than Schiavone's. I think Kim definitely could have won had she played.

Didn't she lose to some no name on clay before the injury? Not saying she sucks on clay, just that it shows her inconsistency on the surface. It all depends on the draw, of course, but the level Stosur's shown so far, I don't think anyone would stop her. She's already beaten the top 3 contenders on most people's radars pre-tourney (Henin, Serena, JJ).

Considering 127 players out of 128 lose, I would say erring on the side of "no" would be safe. :)

Depending on her draw. I could easily see her reaching finals if she was in Venus' half. Still, she'd have to play Stosur in finals, who has the power to hit through her defenses.
