I do not think Zverev will win the FO (unless its indoors all event), but if somehow he did presumably that would give Nadal a huge boost moving forward. Players often say losing to an eventual winner of an event is a consolation of sorts, and i would be interested to know whether Rafa will watch Zverev's matches as it might be worth doing as if Zverev has finally morphed into a slam contender then that match against Zverev could well be a huge springboard.
Obviously, it can work the other way if Zverev loses his next round which would not surprise me as i still remain to be convinced about him at slams and Goffin is the type of player that traditionally causes him issues so i can see Goffin rolling back the years and going into lockdown mode a bit and getting UFE after UFE off Zverev's FH.
The coaches at my club who do travel to events, to a man and woman are convinced Zverev will win the event. They keep patronising me given i am by their standards crap, but just dont see him winning the FO ever in his career or any other slam. That FH i still cannot see holding up over 7 rounds. Technically it is just so suspect.
