Wrist extension issue with forehand

Maverick13

Semi-Pro
Hey all,

So I have horrible wrist extension in my dominant hand. Maybe 35-40° if im lucky. Ive noticed that against bigger hitters I’m having a lot of trouble with my forehand pushing through the ball and whipping it I guess you could say. I currently have a mild semi western, do you think it would be a good idea to transition back to an eastern so there’s less wrist involved? (Wrist strength isn’t an issue, I know my issue is lack of extension)

Thanks

Lack of wrist extension will decrease the racket flip at the beginning of forward swing. Not sure what else it could cause.

Think Elbow extension , not wrist !

every normal person playing tennis ocasionally can not compare himself to pro tennis players, who are stretching and training hard every day since age of 6. you will probably never get the angles the pros get. start easy and see how far you can go. sometimes a slight gripchange can help.

That thinking is lost on many people here. They keep thinking that they can mimic a pro effectively. Ah ..must be nice to live with delusion.
