Hello friends,

My son 13 year old is need for your racket suggestions.

He has used Wilson Pro Staff 100LS (10.6oz, 4 hl, stiffness=64) for 3 years and it worked for him fine without any shoulder or wrist problem. But he was lacking power..... (his body movement wasn't there now he hits with good postures so his whole body is moving now for both forehand and backhand)

Recently he got (2 months ago) wilson burn 100ls (10.5oz, 3hl, stiffness=69) and after playing with it for 2 weeks he started feeling more vibration than his previous rackets. Since last 4 weeks he is compaining about his wrist pain. He took break for 2 weeks. Now He can play for 1 hours without any problem but as soon as he plays for more than 2 hours, he starts having wrist pain.

I am thinking about changing the racket as that the easiest thing to change... I believe wrist pain may be due to racket stiffness.

Can you guys please suggest some of the rackets to try which weight less than 10.8oz?

Thank you,

-Raj

Perhaps the racquet stiffness is making some trouble, but I've been coaching and also stringing racquets for several years. There are several different things that might be hurting that wrist, but it's impossible to know what might be going on without seeing him hit a ball.

One thing that's definitely easier than switching racquets is switching string types. If his Burn is strung with a firm bed of poly or a poly hybrid, it might be too harsh for him in that racquet. A lighter and stiffer frame will generally transmit impact shock more readily than a heavier alternative and a stiff string layout only amplifies that problem. If poly is in there now, switch to either a syn. gut or a multifiber at moderate tension.

Since I've had nothing but good luck with Volkl equipment through recent years, I'll recommend a look at their options if you try some new demos.

4 weeks ago we had Tecnifibre NRG2 16 String at 57 lbs on his racket when he first had wrist pain.

I will soon post his playing video to give you guys better understanding .

I am very sensitive to wrist pain as i know they can last very long......
