Wrist pain

So last month, I began playing tennis again after a 2 month hiatus.
I have a very wristy western forehand, so I use my wrist to generate spin.
On the first day of playing, I was feeling pain on the bottom part of my wrist. It wasn't that much pain, I thought it was soreness. So I continued to play for 2 more days until I hit a really loopy forehand and the pain went to new level.

From then on, I stopped playing, and iced it for a week. However, It only lowered the pain, and came back when I played tennis again. My wrist hurts when ever I kind of stretch it side ways.
Any Ideas on how to heal my wrist pain?

Rest the wrist again by not playing.

You may need to see a "hand specialist" - they take care of the hand and wrist.
"Pain that went to a new level" and indeed "pain" are more worrisome than just a little post play soreness that quickly resolves.

It sounds like if you are fortunate enough to recover just by rest alone, you need to reevaluate your technique.
"Wristy" shots are notorious for causing wrist injuries.

Also, when you come back, you should consider using a softer (natural gut or multifilament) string.
Once you are sure you can play with the softer string, you could then advance to a hybrid.

Unfortunately, an injury after a 2 month hiatus is not that uncommon. Do you do off court conditioning to prepare for big time ball bashing?

I haven't used anything other than polyester strings since november of 2011. I break multis, gut, and synth, in less than a week, if not a few days.

But I deffinately will take along break to recover. I recently scheduled an appointment if my doctor, so I'll see how that goes.
Thanks for the input! Though, I do stretches and warm ups before ball bashing. Reevaluating my technique would be one of the last few solutions to this pain :\ Hopefully I won't have to come to that.

This happened to me when I started playing again after the 2-3 month winter break. So I switched to a lighter racquet for a bit and then all looked ok again.

I started having wrist problems with a "windshield wiper" topspin, with pressureless balls fed by a machine. Stroke/topspin works, but I have pain in the outer edge of a wrist on almost every stroke.

Are you talking about the pinky finger side of your wrist? I had the same last year leading into this year as I was changing my forehand technique to incorporate more wrist lag at the initiation of the forward part of the forehand swing. I was playing my son and caught a few balls late before I got my wrist back to a neutral position, and hurt the TFCC (Triangular Fibrocartilage Complex). See here:

.

If it is this, it just takes time. For me, the start of the pandemic allowed me to cut way down on my playing and the problem has now fully resolved. It was super painful from about last November/December until late February/early March.

Yes, that side. Thanks for the tips. I switched to my other racquet (Wilson Clash), and I have slowed down top spins, and that seems to help some.
