No, your forehand isn't too wristy, in fact, it is a very good forehand. I would recommend to those on this board who hit a western forehand to copy this technique.

No, your forehand form looks quite good. Not wristy at all. Your backhand is even less wristy. In fact, your backhand is the opposite of wristy. It couldn't get any less wristy if we removed your wrists and attached your hands directly to your forearms. Although we may have to test that hypothesis prior to making a confident conclusion....

LOL :) thank you for your answers, i guess ill have to look around to see some wristy forehands, although I have to say that i was quite nervous in that match, we were playing for the third place on my company league, so i was really stiff!!

Very tough to tell. It doesn't look too bad from the camera angle and distance. However, your backhand does need help. Your front arm is too tight and restricts your swing. The front arm needs to relax more.

Further, that was horrible doubles positioning. What the heck is your partner drifting into no-man's land and then hitting a ball from there? Why in the world would he move to the baseline after you hit a penetrating forehand? Did he just get out of bed?

Then both of you end up on the same side of the court with no communication at all! Forget the forehand, work on your doubles positioning and backhand. Literally, made me sick to see two good players playing like a couple of newcomers to the game.

Run 4 miles. Do 1,000 pushups and 1,000 situps, then come talk. Ticks me off.

This is so much fun!!!, thanks B. Bill, you are absolutely right, this was our first time playing together, and my partner is not very confortable at the net and we werent talking to each others enough, we were basically to singles players playing each one on its own, with each one style of playing, not good at all, actualy we lost :(

About my backhand, you have a good point there, sometimes I feel like it takes me to much effort to attack with that stroke, however hitting in a normal rally isnt that hard, Ill work on that, after my punishment exercises :) thanks again.

When your backhand feels like you have to put a lot of effort into getting the racquet forward and into the followthrough, chances are it is either in your footwork or the muscles in the forearm and/or the shoulder of your bottom hand are tighting up ever so slightly to brace for impact or control the swing.

This causes a fight or struggle with your tophand as it is trying to bring the racquet through the ball and then over your shoulder to finish. Many times this happens on the service return because of the quick reaction you have to have returning the ball. Under this kind of pressure, your mind will fall back to what is normal to fire certain muscles during contact.

Sometimes that is a good thing and sometimes a bad thing. In this case, it is a bad thing. You need to work this out of your system and reprogram your brain to fire only certain muscles in your twohander.

Work on that. Oh and please, get some help with that doubles positioning. ;)
