Tomlja - Quitova (very open match, coin toss, slight edge Quitova for her experience and more clutch)

Pegula - Garry CIA (coin toss, but hoping CIA defeats the privileged elites, plus CIA is more clutch)

Screamalenka - Zhang (5 coin tosses, this is pure guessing, nothing else)

Garcia with wins over Martic, Sakkari, Mertens and Pegula. She seems to be having a very consistent phase in her career. It'll be seen as to whether this can be a long term thing, but could Murray's prediction come true all these years later? Iga has a chokehold on the #1 ranking for a good while now, and Garcia needs to start winning big titles regularly first, but she's really starting to turn heads once again and will be a serious quantity for the first time since her Wuhan/Beijing double all those years ago. It's actually pretty nice to see after her form dipped for so many years. Obviously she isn't a major champ but it's like when Ivanovic had her renaissance in like 2014/2015 and some form and confidence was finally rediscovered.

If you look at her career she has 6 titles. Everyone she has won she goes on fire for a week. She has a high risk high reward game when on can beat anyone. But she also loses to anyone. Her career winning percentage is 63 percent. Its just how she is.

She’s a sweet girl who signed 2 of my brother’s hats. So she can’t do no wrong in my eyes. Like you said, she’s hot and cold. I’d really like to see more consistency.

Ya she's a great girl. I wouldn't exactly call it a career revival. Its sort of her career. She reached 7 in the world in 2016? And has been up and down since. Currently at 25.
 
Some anime level stuff where once Kvitova took off the headband after first set she turned match around. Most have been some weighted training headband. :p

Solid stuff after dropping first set.
 
Garcia vs Sabalenka H2H: 1-2. The only time they met at Cincy in 2018, Saba won in 3. But it's a different Garcia.
 
Quitova outblasted Keys.

Very good. Peg and Keys kicked out, the tournament is saved.

Rooting for Shabby in the other semis, but not to invested in who wins.
 
Kvitova is 29-10 in finals.

8-3 in M1000 finals.

11-5 in all big finals.

Very impressive numbers.

She did however lose her last two M1000 finals. This includes a loss to Shabbylenka.

Garry CIA is 2-0 in big finals, Shabby is 4-0.

So all three are very strong in these big finals, hence I don't expect any of them to fold and give up or get so nervous they can't play a decent level.

Just beautiful. Returns 2nd serves from well inside and 1st serves standing on the baseline. Super aggresive returning, loads of variety.

Kvitova is just so freaking good. Great numbers, such a shame she has "only" two majors. At least they're Wimbledon titles
 
Sabalenka the next one to get hammered by Garcia. Garcia with 14/14 1st serve points won. Also her 2nd serve might be the best on the WTA Tour right now, it's just so good
 
Yeah yeah I know Sabalenka has more power than Garcia. But more often than not it's uncontrollable power. Who needs that?
Oh and did I mention that rock solid serve? :)

Yeah she's definitely an underachiever.
However two back to back masters titles in 2017 beating Barty and Halep in the finals, that showed her potential. I think finally getting rid of her Dad as her coach after the last season was crucial.

As I said. Getting rid of her dumbass Dad/coach was crucial. Bartoli got rid of Dad in feb 2013 and 5 months later won Wimbledon. Those idiot fathers fail to realize that they're holding their daughters back. Many many more examples

She had a recurring back injury in 2018. But also like you said went off the boil mentally so not all down to the back, but it was definitely an issue.

she was really hot back then, on a crazy run and even a top 5 player. Really sad what happened to her but the talent’s always been there. Love her game.

I won't attempt to categorize GarCIA. but I will say this about her:

- she has a buttery smooth, clean game.
- she has more than enough power off both sides
- she has a very decent, reliable serve
- she has excellent court smarts
- she has great point construction ability
- she has great tennis instincts
- she is unemotional on court (drama-free)
- she is grunt-free
- she has enough game to take down the top players on tour

And I'm not even a fan of hers!

Let me be clear. I am not trying to promote her as the second-coming. :)

I am just trying to explain why she has the ability to do well, and is doing well now.

That's all. Now stop beating my fave WTA players GarCIA !!!
