I'm going to make my first prediction for the tournie.
I see Garcia easily taking down Sabalenka.
I see Garcia easily taking down Sabalenka.
3 out of 4.Predictions:
Mad Keys - Rybakina (depressing, but that's how it is)
Tomlja - Quitova (very open match, coin toss, slight edge Quitova for her experience and more clutch)
Pegula - Garry CIA (coin toss, but hoping CIA defeats the privileged elites, plus CIA is more clutch)
Screamalenka - Zhang (5 coin tosses, this is pure guessing, nothing else)
This has been keys her whole career.Keys took 1st set.
What’s happening with Keys, Garcia and their recent resurgence? Nice to see
Don’t know what you mean… I watched Keys live last summer when she lost to Zhang, and at this year IW when she lost to IS. She was spraying all over the place with no focus. Iga was Iga, but Zhang?!…This has been keys her whole career.
If you look at her career she has 6 titles. Everyone she has won she goes on fire for a week. She has a high risk high reward game when on can beat anyone. But she also loses to anyone. Her career winning percentage is 63 percent. Its just how she is.Don’t know what you mean… I watched Keys live last summer when she lost to Zhang, and at this year IW when she lost to IS. She’s a sweet girl who signed 2 of my brother’s hats. So she can’t do no wrong in my eyes. Like you said, she’s hot and cold. I’d really like to see more consistency. If you look at her career she has 6 titles. Everyone she has won she goes on fire for a week. She has a high risk high reward game when on can beat anyone. Ya she's a great girl. I wouldn't exactly call it a career revival. Its sort of her career. She reached 7 in the world in 2016? And has been up and down since. Currently at 25.She’s a sweet girl who signed 2 of my brother’s hats. So she can’t do no wrong in my eyes. Like you said, she’s hot and cold. I’d really like to see more consistency.
Garcia changed from wearing a visor to a headband. Keys? I don't see anything different. What’s happening with Keys, Garcia and their recent resurgence? Nice to see
So far everything is going according to plan.I'm going to make my first prediction for the tournie.
I see Garcia easily taking down Sabalenka.
Brainy tennis vs brainless tennis.![]()
Just beautiful. Returns 2nd serves from well inside and 1st serves standing on the baseline. Super aggresive returning, loads of variety.
Kvitova is 29-10 in finals.
8-3 in M1000 finals.
11-5 in all big finals.
Very impressive numbers.
She did however lose her last two M1000 finals. This includes a loss to Shabbylenka.
Garry CIA is 2-0 in big finals, Shabby is 4-0.
So all three are very strong in these big finals, hence I don't expect any of them to fold and give up or get so nervous they can't play a decent level.
The only thing that can turn this around is Shabbylenka starting to smash more winners than UEs. Then Garry CIA is in trouble.Rain could break up Garcia's momentum.
She leads aces for this year.Sabalenka the next one to get hammered by Garcia. Garcia with 14/14 1st serve points won. Also her 2nd serve might be the best on the WTA Tour right now, it's just so good
Anyone else shocked by this?
Only one slam QF for Garry CIA in all these years.
And it's on clay.
Yeah just as shocked as I was when Stan started to bloom.Anyone else shocked by this?

Forget it...Yeah just as shocked as I was when Stan started to bloom.![]()
But you are trying to categorize/explain GarCIA.Forget it...
Stan is an anomaly, doesn't fit into any category.
She can.But you are trying to categorize/explain GarCIA.
Maybe she can't be categorized?
She can.
A talented pro who won a few big titles but no slams. We have tons of those.
Bartoli got lucky. Easy draw and a pigeon in the final. As I said. Getting rid of her dumbass Dad/coach was crucial. Bartoli got rid of Dad in feb 2013 and 5 months later won Wimbledon. Those idiot fathers fail to realize that they're holding their daughters back. Many many more examples
She had a recurring back injury in 2018. But also like you said went off the boil mentally so not all down to the back, but it was definitely an issue.Yeah she's definitely an underachiever.
However two back to back masters titles in 2017 beating Barty and Halep in the finals, that showed her potential. I think finally getting rid of her Dad as her coach after the last season was crucial.
She can.

lol. Right on queue.Starting to rain again at my house so it will be raining at the stadium in about 5 minutes.
Garcia looks done after that long rain delay.
