Wow, frustrating for us, and another bad look for the sport. We are finally getting a half decent match between two big names, and one retires before the deciding set.

Naomi deserved that one, so it's hard to see. What isn't hard to see what Gauff's look of near excitement when Osaka started talking to the chair umpire, and then Gauff offering to carry Osaka's bag was just next level fake niceness to build her image. Give it a rest...

Put down the haterade, bud.

Oh, please. You can't hide human nature.

Gauff's very first reaction was genuine, because it was a surprise to her, and it's even understandable. Staring down at a really tough third set, it's a nice reprieve to have the win handed to you.

The bag carrying was just too obvious, though. She 100% knows the cameras are on her, and that they can hear every word she is saying. Performative all the way...

What happened? It was on and not paying total attention and Osaka retires. She looked like she was moving good enough to complete match.
She stretched her inner thigh since the beginning of the match, and took pain killer 3-2 first set.
2nd set she stretched her back and her first serve mostly slice serves to the forehand or body. The end of the set the first serve is gone.
She clearly banking on a break lead at 4-3 but got broken.

Not really sure if it's the leg or the back.

Your posts say more about you than Coco/Naomi.

hmm no one says this about dimitrov.
And no one writes ridiculous articles about Dimitrov, like the one below.

Plus, Dimitrov has established himself as a true class act. Always a good sportsman, always cordial, seemingly very giving.

Right on schedule, we get the nonsense puff piece.

Please, do tell, what do they say about me? What do they say about me, a person you have exactly zero clue about? I'm dying to know...

I don't get this, did she want to win this match with painkillers? This is not a grand slam, it's not even a QF match.

she posted on her social that she locked her back during practice.

I mean you will get a day off if she somehow pull a win(which she was in winning position) plus facing a qualie on the next match.

who can stop sabalenka? she is currently on Cincy-USO-Beijing streak and there is no sign she is going to slow down.
Forgot she won Cincy too. Currently on her equal longest win streak at 15 matches. But a very tough one next against Muchova who is so dangerous especially against the top 10.

Badosa on a very, very good run of late.

Since her Bad Homburg QF loss where she was ranked #113 she's:

Made the Wimbledon 4R
Won the Washington 500
Lost 3R in Toronto 1000
Made the SF at the Cincy 1000
Made the US Open QF
Now into the SF at the Beijing 1000

She's 21 wins and 4 losses. She's also 12-2 in her last 14 matches.

She's projected up to #15 in the world. Mammoth jump in a few months.

She's still favourite against all of them but if I should rank

1. Muchova (beat her in twice last year)
2. Badosa (Always a tight matches)
3. Qinwen (Home boost)
4. Andreeva
5. Gauff
6. Staro
