that's a bit unfair, it's hard to judge injury risk and I can think of at least one other one slam winner more worthy of being crapped on.I don't feel she'll be a flash in the pan, 1 time slam winner the way fellow Canadian Bianca Andreescu was either.
Bianca's injuries & other issues were unfortunate, don't get me wrong. I'm strictly referring to other Canadian players. I'm a fan. I'm rooting for her return to at least 20 status, but I am doubtful.that's a bit unfair, it's hard to judge injury risk and I can think of at least one other one slam winner more worthy of being crapped on.
She needs to drop some weight, she is too heavy for tennis.Bianca's injuries & other issues were unfortunate, don't get me wrong. I'm strictly referring to other Canadian players. I'm a fan. I'm rooting for her return to at least 20 status, but I am doubtful.
I don't disagreeShe needs to drop some weight, she is too heavy for tennis.
I totally agree that Muchova is, by far, the best watch in the WTA. She is the only WTA player whose matches I really seek out when possible.I don't know if Muchova will ever win a slam but I don't think there is a more enjoyable player on the WTA side to watch when she's on. No one else plays with her variety. If she can stay healthy, she's gonna be a problem all season.
You guys are silly. She's quite fit (and looks great). She more fit than Serena was late in her career. She's fitter than Davenport ever was.She needs to drop some weight, she is too heavy for tennis.

Also, though, I have to point out that Muchova's success (and results when healthy) are just more proof that some of the former great WTA players would still dominate the tour.
Muchova's style is something of a "throwback" by modern WTA standards, and it is still very effective. Heck, Ash Barty was the dominant player for a while, and she would have been completely handled by the greats from the 90's and early 00's.

Maybe leaner, I never said she is fat. Maybe she is big boned, but she looks heavy. Even when she won the US Open she looked heavy but age was on her side. Tennis is very unforgiving for those types of bodies.I

I looked at some recent photos of Bianca, & she's in great shape now. Maybe you could have said she could get a bit leaner in the past, but she was never overweight. I take back my "I don't disagree comment". Thanks for calling me out!
We both never she was fat! The body type thing maybe, something to that. I also feel the training staff plays a part, but maybe she's just been unlucky. I do like her strategy of playing the WTA Challengers to start the season.Maybe leaner, I never said she is fat. Maybe she is big boned, but she looks heavy. That was touch and go for a moment. She has way more fire power than Mirra and could have closed it out in 2, looks like Amanda is not 100% physically. But I am surprised at some of the gets from Mirra, she definitely has improved on that. She is going to be a difficult opponent come Indian Wells and Miami.Anisimova is back on track. Likely going 3.
Good match, shifts of momentum. Yeah, Mirra moves well. Anisimova righted the ship, I had picked her to win. That was touch and go for a moment. Sure, being a bit leaner probably would have been good for her, as tennis is a sport that doesn't really reward too much muscle or mass, but on the women's side these days there is definitely a priority placed on big hitting as opposed to movement.I looked at some recent photos of Bianca, & she's in great shape now. All true. Anisimova would be even better with better movement. Sabs movement is way better now; even Rybakina. It also obviuously helps if you're already natural speedster.Sure, being a bit leaner probably would have been good for her, as tennis is a sport that doesn't really reward too much muscle or mass, but on the women's side these days there is definitely a priority placed on big hitting as opposed to movement.
I mean, look at Anisimova. She's doing well, and her movement is really bad right now.
Sorana could easily have taken Eala out but she let the crowd get to her.Coco just has way too much game for Eala. Dominant win.
