I dont follow the ATP anywhere near as much as the ATP, infact, outside of the slams I dont really follow it at all. Which is probably why I dont understand what is going on at the moment - last week we had Doha, which I thought was the equivalent of the ATP world tour finals which is in London this year. But then this week we have Bali? I looked on the WTA website and their calendar shows that both tournaments are 'season ending championships', one with an 8 players draw, which was Doha last week, and then Bali has a 12 player draw this week. Can someone explain to me what's going on!?!? Whilst following tennis in general there is always the talk of how tennis' calendar is too complicated, especially for the 'occasional' fan to understand. Well on the face of it this WTA calendar is ridiculous, it seems like two separate tours for gods sake! Can someone please explain to me what's going on!? Another point is that in past years I hadn't noticed how much earlier the WTA finishes comapared to the mens. As far as I know the complaints about the season being too long are both on the WTA and the ATP. When this first occured to me I hadn't realised there was Bali this week and I thought last week's Doha tournament was the last one for the WTA. This made me wonder what the women are complaining about when they finish a month earlier than the men!? Now it seems they are playing in Bali this week it still means the women have 3 more weeks off than the men, what more do they want!?
