Love
1. Wozniaki
2. Halep
3. Coco Gauff
4. Raducanu

Don’t love :
1. Kenin
2. Stephens
3. Ostapenko
4. Krejcikova
5. Vondrousova
6. Swiatek

I am trying to figure out what drives the media and especially ESPN to be so polarized .

They make it a point that with their verbal diarrhea everyone will develop a dislike for Coco. Coco saying she knows who her haters are and having a victim mentality that always people like herself and Serena are targeted are not helping either

I mean, the media and ESPN have overhyped Gauff insanely but the reason is because she's popular with the public. I've been chatting with friends here in Aus during the French Open, at Wimbledon and now through the US Open and they all knew who Gauff was but had no clue who Swiatek or Rybakina or Krejcikova was. They also didn't know who Raducanu was too. Even when I was in France, it was about Gauff.

Swiatek unfortunately doesn't resonate, especially here in Aus, Sabalenka gets some recognition but I think that's because she's won two Australian Opens.

Gauff's brand has done well to transcend the sport.

They are owned by Disney. I would prefer a much more non-biased presentation.
I think the ESPN producers have marching orders.

I read somewhere that Federer’s organization is responsible for the media promotion of Coco.

Not sure how much truth it is to this . I cannot believe this to be the truth as ESPN is far bigger organization and their executives must have a role to play in this .

While Emma Navarro has not won a major and does not have flashy strokes, she is a solid solid player . And media can create a narrative if they want . They can position her as humble, educated and grounded with classy personality but still the talk was all about Coco and how she has the mental fortitude to turn the match.

Also wozniacki’s game has always been about moon balling and backboarding , yet ESPN always fawns over her. She has won lots of titles and been No 1, but we all know her game is far from being attractive and entertaining . Not much said about Halep and her ban.

It is a chicken and egg issue. If media promotes, more people will follow .

What we are hearing on TV is all well orchestrated and what the media and executives want us to hear. It is not the opinion of any one individual.

Media is creating the coco brand is what I am saying

All the women in your "don't like" list except Stephens and Penko have the personality of a wet paper bag

And a lot of people in the media seem to be turning against Raducanu as of late

Don’t underestimate power of media. The same ESPN can put a positive spin around Pegula, Navarro, Kenin.

They don’t have a reason to give props to the Czechs but even a great player like Kvitova would get remembered perhaps during just Wimbledon.

Krejcikova won FO and Wimb . She is very versatile combine with all those doubles majors . But other than mentioning Novotna they mention nothing

Well, she's been dining out on her 2021 US Open win for far too long. It was a fantastic achievement but it's been 3 years ago now and she has done absolutely nothing since and not giving any real sign that she will do so. She's fast becoming yesterday's news.

But US media still talks a lot about her. At least in the case of Bianca, she beat Serena to win and also has multiple other runs.

The second list includes players outside Catholic or Protestant faith?

Most probably Orthodox and Jewish.

I am not saying that's the reason.
