Observations?

Jankovic played an ridiculous amount of matches. She has to slow it down in 08 to have a good shot at the slams, imo.
Henin is far and away the best player right now.

Henin has a 0.931 winning percentage this year. This has to be her most dominant year of her career. I guess it helps when you don't play a lot of tournaments.

I think it's important to note the number of times Shahar Peer and Lindsay Davenport appear on this list of defeats. Peer clearly has the ability to take out the top players on any given day. Can she start doing it consistently in the slams?

Lindsay has three victories over now top-ten players, when she only played 9 matches so far in her comeback. Very impressive. Does anyone know if she plans on playing in any more events (i.e. Quebec City) before the end of the year?

Henin's played 12 tournaments this year, I think. That's about the same as Federer this year (11?).

2 more places left for the girls to compete into the championship.

6. Chakvetadze (she just need to get into at least semi to grab more point to confirm advance)
7. Sharapova (in injury list, it seems she not going to play again this year but if she wish to well she has to depends on the others result to help her get advance)
8. Venus (as same situation as Sharapova)
9. Hantuchova (she need to win in Zurich and Linz)
10. Dementieva (pulled out from Zurich, she need to win at Linz)
11. Bartoli (she need to win in Zurich and Linz)
12. Safina (she need to win in Zurich and Linz)
