I get it if it's R1 or 2 but it was the SF! And she served for the first set!

but broke and lost 6 games in a row 0:4 behind in the second set, made more "sense" to her, time to give it up here and move on to the next tournament and start fresh there!

Qinwen plays with more feel, variety and aggression. Ostapenko is like a one dimensional ball basher.

I watched the beginning of the match, Zheng didn't' win a single point in the first two games, she was 1:4 behind. She must fight really hard to get out the hole and won the first set.

Wow I guess that's why Ostapenko was so mad at her box lol.

Kudermetova looks attractive. Great effort to break in the first game.

Power and precision. Nice clean game.

Love her forehand.

Imagine being a spectator, and paying good money expecting to see a competitive match and one of the players has effectively given up and then retires. It's no wonder the venues at WTA-only events are mostly empty. You rarely see that sort of stuff in the ATP.

I see a lot of fuss being made about what a good player Kostyuk is. She has a solid game, but she's now gone 0-12 against top 10 players, and is 2-20 against top 20 players over the last 2-3 years that she's been on the main tour. She's been languishing around the top 50 for the best part of 18 months now and made 0 (Zero) main tour or challengers finals either.

I can see potential there, but there's something stopping her making that jump into the top 20-30.

Potato. I like her, but a bit insecure and flaky at times. :(
What happens if the racket slips out of your hands as you hit the ball and your opponent can't return the shot?

There we go. Potato just needed my support. :)
I joined the match at 2-4, Potato down a break.
She then went on to win 5 of the next 6 games!

Why is Claura Tauson so bad now?
Last season was pretty much ruined by a recurrent back injury which just hindered any consistency. So bad that she fell out of top 100 and even had to break up with her coach due to economic problems. Pretty sad, really, as she was destined for top 10-20. Injury problems seems to be over, but now has to work herself up the rankings again.

But maybe being a lucky loser in Linz will be a turning point. She beat Begu convincingly in the first round. If she finds her old form, she is good enough to win the tournament..

Kasatkina need to hire a serve coach as Sabalenka did last year. Her serve undoes everything she achieved.

Man looking at this ladies schedule now between the Aussie open and the end of March there are a crap tons of points to try and get. Two 500s and a 1000 in the Middle East? And then IW and Miami ? Wow .
