Kenin hit many lethal angled winners with her 2HBH. Skidded like a bullet. Daria was always playing defense here - well, that's her style anyway - but more so in this match.

That win could guarantee Boulter an Australian Open seeding. Back up to 30th and not much tournament play between now and Melbourne.

I notice Jabeur has slipped to 33rd. Will be very weird to see her unseeded at a major.

For me, Jabeur will go down as one of the biggest what ifs as a major champ. So, so close and really should have one. Up there with Sabine Lisicki. I rank them above Safina, Jankovic and Radwanska as the what if’s who really should have one.

I don’t think Ons will get back to the top 5 again which pains me as she’s one of my all time favourite players.

Damn, Danilovic is only 23 but her lone career title was way back in ‘18, Moscow over Potapova.

And a breadstick to finish. Bianca just isn’t very competitive against most real players these days.
Honestly, it's so strange to see what Bianca has turned into as a player. Almost unrecognizable from that one great season she had, and it's so hard to understand why.

Physically, you can see she has done some work on her face for some reason, but that's another story...

Qinwen won 6-3.
Any drama there this time?

Kenin back into the top 100 in the live rankings (#87, could be #61 if she wins the title).

Qinwen into her 2nd Tokyo final (2022 RU vs Samsonova).

Sofia ran into a buzz saw, not sure how her injury affected her (if at all), Qinwen just too good.
Still a great week for Kenin, and she gave me a nice little Bday bonus; Hope she can build on this and keep moving up.

3 & 1 in barely an hour for Danilovic to win Guangzhou, first title in 7 years. Nice way to wrap up her season.

Three 250s left.

Damn, Dolehide beat Bronzetti 11-9 in the deciding breaker to face Danilovic in the Guangzhou final.
Dolehide survived at least 4 match points that Bronzetti had in the tiebreaker including being down 3-6.

Very nice to see Danilovic get a title.
