Jabeur gets her first win since Wimbledon. Has been battling injuries and only played Cincy since then.

She looks decent. Hope she can continue to get back to the top tier where she belongs.

Nothing you can do is there when Sloane’s not feeling it. What do you think her peak level is like nowadays? Still capable of Winning a major?
She's a bizarre case - won a major, made another final, won a 1000 and was #3 in the world. Now she's got this body care business she's pushing on the side but that would probably get far more attention if she actually won matches. She's now ranked 74 so I agree if she does nothing all year she's probably retiring as she won't even be getting main draw entry into the slams. I wouldn't be surprised if she's using the travel to try and get her products selling in stores around the world.

That is amazing about Emma. It’s freaking December 31.
She’s made of glass. It seems that all recent and current British tennis players are the same. Murray was fragile and always carrying an injury, Robson shone brightly then crumbled at an early age, Draper is currently struggling and always seems to be on the edge of something bad healthwise and Raducanu has just been a no-show for most of her career; wins a Grand Slam tournament and then disintegrates.

However, with Raducanu I think it’s also her attitude. She has a massive chip on her shoulder and thinks she can mix it up with the top class players on the strength of a fortuitous run at the 2021 US Open. I still don’t think she understands the hard work required to be a successful tennis player. She’s talented but nothing special, so she needs to work hard on both her fitness and game. I get the feeling she won’t really do that and she’ll fade into obscurity sooner rather than later.

I don’t remember the last top tier British player who had a relatively normal career, health wise.

Kasatkina v Stearns is an insane battle right now. Over 3 hours and 5 minutes.

This 3rd set alone has been 1 hour and 17 minutes and it’s 5-4. Kasatkina just served for it but got broken. It’s been break after break.

There was a game which had 16 deuces.

Kostyuk, Samsonova, and Navarro all upset.
Sabalenka might be able to win this one in 3rd gear.

Boulter looking good so far in the pointless team cup thing.

Watching highlights, it looks like Osaka has gotten herself into shape. A fit Osaka is something I'd love to see out on tour again. She could take some big scalps if she manages to actually rededicate herself to the game. Kind of excited about that possibility. Looked OK in her first couple matches here. False dawn?

She's actually the highest ranked player left in her half of the draw, so no reason why she shouldn't at least reach the final if she's in decent form.

Birrell is returning so good. Helps when you get to play on your home court that you've trained at for so long.

She breaks. Up the set and 3-1 now.

Didn't know Potapova was married to ATP player Shevchenko (who's having a great United Cup with Rybakina) and they've already divorced. She's only 23.

A punishing 11 minute opening game for Kudermetova against Kasatkina and Daria finally breaks to start us off.

Kudermetova melting down after not holding that first game and she's on track to be bageled. Kasatkina up 5-0 serving for it.

This match is just ridiculous. Kasatkina was up 4-0 this set and was 2 points away just before at 5-2 but Kudermetova held.

Now she serves for it. Broken to love. So we back on serve this set.

6-1 2-6 5-4.

Insane match.

Polina Kudermetova takes it in the end 1-6 6-2 7-5.

She won the last 5 games to win from 2-5 down.

Her first career top 10 win.

4 & 4 for Montgomery over Pera in 77 minutes. That is freaking moving for 20 games.

Naomi v. Baptiste now.

Birrell couldn’t convert match point and loses a near 3 hour marathon to Kalinina.

Now watching Jabeur v Andreeva. Mirra on fire already up a set 6-4.
