WTF are you talking about. Based on its been around forever, has nice facilities and good crowds. I dont give a crap about the green clay. Its been that way forever.
Woah, dude, take it easy. I'm just trying to give you some perspective. To the locals, and some Americans, I'm sure it is a pretty well known event. To the rest of the world, it's a small event, and a strange one at that, since it is played on clay, but not the clay that everyone else is accustomed to seeing. People may find it quirky and nice, but not one of the best on tour.
Credit to Collins for sticking in the entry list and actually flying to play this tournament having just won her maiden 1000.
And she didn't even get a bye. I would've dipped.
I was thinking the same thing, but then I heard some talk about the Olympics. Basically, her recent result gives her a very real shot at improving her ranking enough to qualify. So maybe she wants to try and rack up as many points as possible. And I do think she can overtake Keys in the rankings, since Maddison hasn't done much lately, and clay isn't her favorite.
It would be nice for Emma Navarro to win Charleston - the tournament owned by her father.
Collins is on a roll - the bookmaker is even favoring her against the much higher ranked Jabeur. Well, Jabeur's result is always unpredictable. So, it's probably not a surprise?
Well, Jarry couldn't win the tournament owned by his father, but maybe Emma is different. She certainly won't have as much ridiculous crown support.
As for Jabeur, she is a total disaster lately. Ranked in the top 10, she is playing like someone ranked around 150.
