Vanderweghe is a name that got promoted way to early by the USTA powers to be to be the next young star. Although see did very well in the WTA for a year, she could not keep that level up afterwards and ended up injured and weight gain and used up all the WCs too. Because she got heavily promoted, much was expected from her. I think it better to be a nobody player and play through the various ITF levels to achieve stardom then to be placed in WTA high level tournaments and do swim or sink matches.

Well coco was becoming really good until she got injured. She was 9th in the world at one point. But she hasn’t played competitive matches at this level for years now so it was strange to see Davis struggle.....even though she is a pretty up and down player herself.
