Was a good match Sakkari really picked up her game and Poor Svit just wanted it to bad and fall
apart.

Anyone watching the Mcnally match ? Looking like the Youngster might pull off the upset
Congrats to the Youngster, Caty. Schedule shows her playing doubles with Coco Gauff in less than 15 minutes. That time is probably not realistic

How long is Giorgi's racket? Looks like she's swinging a friggin' golf club on FHs and serves

Can't believe that Elina let this slip away. She was up 6-1, 5-2 before Maria completely turned it around. Elina too negative. Kudos to Maria.

Great feedback from Amanda's coach. First talked tactics. Then got her to smile.

But Amanda is still up and down in this set like the last. First 4 games of the 2nd set are all service breaks.

Finally, a hold by Amanda the 5th game .

That was a match she should not have lost. Kinda mad at the moment.
It was pretty obvious that something was wrong with her tonight. She let her coach know the first two times he came into coach her. But, I suspect, even before the match started Amanda let Jaime Cortez know that she was not feeling well. After the first five games (score 2-3), he asked a couple of times if she was ok. At that time, he said that if she wanted to quit, they would stop.

After Amanda won the 1st set, 7-5, she seemed out of sorts even more than when she was a break down earlier in the set. Jaime got her to smile (weakly) because he knew she was having a hard time.

Most likely why the doctor and trainer came in after the 2nd set rather than her coach was because of her physical and mental state at that point.

The MTO helped a bit but it wasn't quite enuff

Watching Giorgi-McNally. Giorgi was up 4 to 2, but McNally got a break back and it's 6-all tie break set. Giorgi showing clear signs of frustration with a racket to the ground in anger.

Guess Camila got past that. Took the TB. And then the 2nd set more easily (according to the score anyway)

Wishing Caty M more luck in the doubles final. She is playing with Coco Gauff against Fanny Stollar and Maria Sanchez (another American). Up in a few minutes

Yep, she did. Forgot to update it. Strong second set.

Is she playing really well right now? I think she was lucky to get past Amanda last night. If AA playing at 80% or better it would have likely been a very different match
Zheng doesn't miss much. Gets a real lot back. Maria has to almost hit a winner, then follow it up. Now Maria is down in the TB

Sakkari is frustrated playing moonballs from Zheng. She lost the set returning one. Moonball at its best at the Pro level.

During coach conversation:
Sakkari: "What is this? This is not tennis! Even my grandmother doesn't hit like that. This is under-14 tennis"

Commentator noted she made similar comment ("under-12" tennis) when playing Nao Hibino.

Lovely. It's tennis, she needs to find a solution

Edit: Add more juicy comment from Sakkari.
