WTA week of 7/31; Washington DC 500 & Prague 250

Svitolina is gonna win a slam isn't she?

Having a kid was the best thing for her career, damn.

#1344 in the world back in April when she returned.
Strasbourg title
French Open QF
Wimbledon SF
Washington QF*

Up to #26 in the world and looks like she will be seeded for the US Open. The baby was only born in October.

Rain wreaks havoc to scheduling. Sigh - this Washington DC WTA is the tourney that was moved from NorCal. It was the only WTA level tournament in NorCal. The demise started when it moved from being Bank of the West, to being hosted at San Jose State. Finally, IMG (the tournament owner), moved it to Washington DC to be a combined ATP/WTA event - more convenient for players with the USO Series being in the East Coast. Makes sense, I guess. Oh well.

Svitolina takes the first set in some style.
I've followed her speedy return to the tour.
I'm liking the 'Lioness' Svitolina:)

What can Pegula do to counter?

B Square plays like crap. CG is doing good, but man… these announcers are kissing her butt so hard I’m turning it off.

I know we've been down this false road many times before but I feel Gauff will take this one and win her first 500. It could be any of the four though. Very high quality semi finals. If this was the semi final of Montreal it wouldn't feel out of place.
