With Sharapova out and Clijsters and Davenport back in action the top 3 have already been set. The other seven are still up for grabs. Who do you think it will be. Here is my prediction:
.) Davenport
.) Clijsters
.) Sharapova
.) Mauresmo
.) Dementieva
.) Pierce
.) V. Williams
.) Henin-Hardenne
.) Petrova
.) Myskina
With Mauresmo getting to the final in Filderstat and continuing to play healthy she will maitain her ranking. Like I said before the top three are going to change (only because Sharapova is injured). Dementieva has been playing well and it showed with her win over Clijsters at Filderstat. Pierce has had a solid year with two grand slam finals and a title. She will go down only to Dmemetieva. Venus will stay at seven because of her knee problems and could possibly drop down but I think she will be able to maintain her ranking. Justine...how the mighty have fallen. Her fourth round exit in New York spoke for itself. Pierce dominated that match. Not only that but her first round loss to Danilidou at Wimbledon and first round loss (pattern?) and first round loss at Filderstat. Justine still looks like she could use some time off and with that she will probably drop a couple of spots. Nadia Petrova will stick with her spot. She has been playing well but just coming up short a lot. Myskina is a darkhorse for me and that's only because she has been picking up her game ever since her "shocking" loss at the French. I think she will be able to pick it up once again before the year is over.
