More like physical letdown. Tennis is a tough sport. Thiem is probably in coasting mode to recharge for the third. Remember's some of Nadal's recent matches, like Shanghai 15 SF vs Tsonga or IW 16 4R vs Zverev until the MP choke. It's a viable tactic if the player is confident he'll get better again in the deciding set.
