Who will win?
Sinner whole year we have seenWe haven’t seen Sinner at this year’s U.S. Open so there’s no real basis to make any kind of argument
Not the whole year. He served very well for his standards at Wimbledon. The US Open was where it fell off.Nadal's backhand and serve was quite bad in 2011.
Nadal was amazing at start of the year but like Djokovic he tapered off by US open though.2011 Nadal should have been better at times but he is still getting the better of all other than top tier ATG's. He was still playing at a high level and still had 90% of his physical abilities and ability off the ground.
Yes. Nadal us open form was not good.2011 Nadal was overall better. Why choose the US Open version when his form was up and down by then, and wasn't serving well? He was better in the first half of the year, which is why I rate 2011 Djokovic so highly, ahead of 2015.
It was good enough to reach the final, and probably would have had 50% chance against Federer if the Swiss had converted one of his MPs.Yes. Nadal us open form was not good.
Now we haveWe haven’t seen Sinner at this year’s U.S. Open so there’s no real basis to make any kind of argument
Total bullying of Taylor Swift does not count as impressive.Going with Jannik Sinner in 5 now.
Total bullying of the field
His game is so powerful on hard courts and has Djokovic like patience. Will make a killing of the field now.
Murray has such a low impact on the game that Sinner in 1 year won more HC slams than MurrayTotal bullying of Taylor Swift does not count as impressive.
Nadal bullied a certain Andrew Barron Murray in the USO 2011 SF, maybe you heard of him?.
Yes it would be very competitive match either way.I'd still take Nadal but it wouldn't be a walk in the park at all. Sinner completely dominated this tournament.
Nadal defeated Andy Murray in 4 sets in the USO 2011 SF, only allowing Andy to win 14 games.Murray has such a low impact on the game that Sinner in 1 year won more HC slams than Murray
Nadal did nothing bullying in USO semis.
Murray has too many results on grass but don't think he is that far above Medvedev on hard courts.Nadal defeated Andy Murray in 4 sets in the USO 2011 SF, only allowing Andy to win 14 games.
Sinner beat Medvedev in 4 sets in the USO 2024 QF, only allowing Daniil to win 13 games.
Saying Sinner bullied Medvedev but Nadal didn't bully Murray when the scores were almost identical is a double standard.
Plus, as much as I respect Daniil as a solid rival, Murray is a superior tennis player. So Nadal beating Murray in 4 at the USO is far more impressive than Sinner beating Medvedev in 4.
Yes and how is that different than sinner 2024. He has as good a backhand as Djokovic then2011 Nadal wins. At that time, Nadal had a matchup problem with Djokovic (particularly Djokovic punishing Nadal's cross-court forehand to Djokovic's backhand) but Nadal was little different from 2010 apart from that.
Would Sinner deal with Nadal's relentless pounding of his backhand? I doubt it.Yes and how is that different than sinner 2024. He has as good a backhand as Djokovic then
Why notWould Sinner deal with Nadal's relentless pounding of his backhand? I doubt it.
I don't think so. But would like to at least see the match.Fritz would beat 2011 Nadal
Who's better? A guy with 22 slams who competed in the greatest era ever. Or a guy who would be slamless in almost any other era?Who will win?
I take it you weren't watching tennis back then.Yes and how is that different than sinner 2024. He has as good a backhand as Djokovic then
Eh Nadal’s serve was much worse in 2011 to the point that it was one of his weakest serving performances in a Slam final… whereas 2010 was probably his best.2011 Nadal wins. At that time, Nadal had a matchup problem with Djokovic (particularly Djokovic punishing Nadal's cross-court forehand to Djokovic's backhand) but Nadal was little different from 2010 apart from that.
Nadal's serve and backhand were a lot better in 2010.2011 Nadal wins. At that time, Nadal had a matchup problem with Djokovic (particularly Djokovic punishing Nadal's cross-court forehand to Djokovic's backhand) but Nadal was little different from 2010 apart from that.
Are we just talking US Open? Nadal's serve at 2011 Indian Wells was like 2010 US Open.Nadal's serve and backhand were a lot better in 2010.
It's 2011 Us Open. Are we just talking US Open? Nadal's serve at 2011 Indian Wells was like 2010 US Open.
His serve and backhand were nowhere near the level of his performance in 2010.2011 Nadal wins. At that time, Nadal had a matchup problem with Djokovic (particularly Djokovic punishing Nadal's cross-court forehand to Djokovic's backhand) but Nadal was little different from 2010 apart from that.
That means zero to me since match starts at 0-0-0At 25, Nadal had proven a lot compared to 23-year-old Sinner in his second slam.
At Sinner's current age of just turning 23, Nadal had won 6 majors (4 French Opens, 1 Wimbledon, 1 Australian Open) and his best US Open result was the semi final. At 25, Nadal had proven a lot compared to 23-year-old Sinner in his second slam.
Have you ever heard the expression "paralysis through analysis"?Keep in mind, in HC slams Rafa is only 8-8 against top5 (4-5 when excluding Nole and Fed), and 16-16 against top10 (11-13 when excluding Nole and Fed).
He was tested you are making up stuffSinner wasn‘t tested at USO so we don’t know his true level in comparison to the Big Three.
