This is the one match that I've been waiting to see. Both players are in great form. This is a battle for the #2 clay court player in the game today. Thiem's resume at the FO has been the 2nd best during the last two years. But Djoker is on fire right now. I think that this will be a blockbuster match.
Before the clay court season started, Thiem was an 11/1 underdog to win the FO. So I placed 100.00 on him. I'm pulling for Thiem to go all the way. But if a gun were pointed at my head, I'd pick Djoker in 5 sets. It's never a good idea to bet against a clutch legend. However, I only bet on longshots. Betting on guys like Nadal(was even money) is extremely boring to me.

I have no idea who will win. I thought they both looked good. I'm looking forward to watching this match. Hopefully it will be exciting unlike too many of the other FO matches this year.
When Zverev was serving for the first set, you could see Djoko turn it up a notch... Hard to beat that ability. We know what Nole can do - and has done.... Let's see what Thiem can bring to the semi table.

Djokovic in three sets. I have only watched one of Dom's matches however. The only thing he can match Novak in is fitness, everything else Novak is superior. Thiem might get a set, but I doubt even that.

I think if Zverev can almost get a set, Thiem probably will. He's striking the ball with more confidence and with less errors than Zverev. Still think Djokovic will win of course.

Yep Stefanos Stan was outstanding. Stan was close to making it two classics in a row, but the match against Fed was still awesome viewing.

That was classic Fed in that match. Around here it always fed is the teacher. But rarely mentioned how much fed has learned and adapted from the others. When he was grunting in the stan match it made me remember that lol. When fed grunts its game on! Lol

Its seems so evenly matched + they had a close one in Madrid. My gut feeling however is that Thiem "hunger" would prevail over Novak's experience. Djokovic wins a lot of matches where he does just enough and his opponents crash mentally. I think Thiem in 4 relatively easy sets, something like 7-6 6-4 3-6 6-1

What a cracker ahead. Didn’t see either match today due to damn work! I finish early tomoz though so should catch most of both the matches tomorrow. What 2 crackers we got.
Both Djoko and Thiem look impressive and were the 2 most tipped to dethrone Nadal. This will be close but I’m hoping Novak’s experience and ability to step up to an even greater level when it matters will see him through. Djoko is so close to creating even more amazing history! Go Djoko!

In what planet is this even 1% true? Thiem is not tougher than Nadal on PC and never, ever will be. Nobody will ever be tougher on PC than Nadal, that's obvious.
Anyway, I'm going with Djokovic in straight sets. Thiem has nothing to bother him with and Novak is totally dialed in. Scoreline 7-6, 6-4, 7-5.

Novak was not so good today, Zverev was too bad. Hope that Novak didn't want to push too hard because he saw that Zed wasn't at his best, and that he will bring higher level against Thiem. If he does not I am afraid Thiem will win, he plays great at the moment...

Djokovic dropped sets in the US Open and Australian open, still won those titles at a canter. At both tournaments he saved his best for the SFs and Fs.

For most people the only question is whether Djokovic wins in straights or loses a set.
A 50% B- game Djokovic beat Thiem in straights in Madrid 2019 SF.
The current Djokovic would pulverize the Austrian. It is Thiem who wouldn't know what happened and would be reduced to tears.

I agree 100%. Thiem is not even playing as well as he was in 2018.
I'm not even sure Thiem can match Djokovic in fitness. Djokovic's speed, athleticism, explosiveness and defense is on another planet.
Thiem always seems to die down in long matches and is a mental midget to boot.

Djokovic is F.O Winner. He's beaten Nadal 7 times on clay. On what planet is Thiem EVEN in the same stratosphere as Djokovic?
The #2 clay court player is undisputedly the #1 player in the world right now. It will be the same regardless of the result of this match.

Federer, without a shadow of doubt. Fed is one of the most opportunistic players I've ever seen. If Nadal/Djokovic magically lose, no one's going to stop Fed from the title.
Only Nadal or Djokovic are capable of imposing themselves mentally over Federer, which is why they have beaten him so many times. Nadal even more than Djokovic.
Thiem would choke in a final with Fed - he's just not as the same level mentally.

Don't matter. Thiem's power groundies will diffuse everything Novak will try to do so what will happen is Thiem will control the middle of the court and Novak will be running a lot. then Thiem will destroy him with power groundie winner. This will happen over and over and over..........
NO reason to play this match even,, could be just as Routine as RAFA beating Federer in the other semi............. I HATE boring semifinals but what can I do ............................. oh well
