Xenon Xtreme

I’d take half the durability for something that looks decent
mpournaras: hey I found these great shoes from (asics/Nike/Lotto/whatever):giggle:

Xenon: but can they withstand being ran over by a tank?

mpournaras: erm... well no... :X3:

Xenon: THEN ITS ****ING GARBAGE!!

mpournaras: well damn man, there's more to a shoe than just sheer durability you know? :cautious:

Xenon: ....no, there isn't!

mpournaras: okay man, have a good day (y)

Haha nice! That was an adventure. Xenon should hire me

I should say that with all the discourse I contribute to that I have 4 shoes that work very well for me so I’m all set for a few years regardless of what Nike/NB/Asics/Xenon? does or offers

Wow. I'm actually interested in these. If that toe box isn't too tight, I could see getting an extremely durable hard court shoe. I tend to toss shoes when the outsole is burned through and they're unsafe to play in.

The toe box is very generous. It is modeled after the K-Swiss Hypercourt Express 2 for the toe box, so plenty of room.

The durability of the outsoles has been ridiculous. We've seen 2-3x more durability in use than any other brand and it is extremely comfortable due to the super critical foam.

Sorry to hear some people don't like the design, that's ok, plenty of people do. That's also why they make plenty of flavors of ice cream too. The new design coming in August will be more "traditional" with a white base and blue trim as shown in the video. Plenty of people are excited for that colorway.

OK, you've got me. I'll post a review after I have some time in them.

I've played in these shoes two times so far: three sets of doubles and a set of singles. The singles set was played on a gritty hard court and I'm still not seeing any wear of the shoes yet.

For a durability shoe, these feel cushioned and the upper feels soft. I'd expect most people will need no break in of the shoe to feel comfortable. For my feet, I feel more of a squeeze in the toe box as compared to the Babolat SFX3 and less as compared to the Adidas Solematch Control. The rubberized fabric around the edge of the toe box has give, but still irritated my little toe after about an hour and something of play. My toes are the widest part of my 2E feet.

The stability of the shoe seems good, but I haven't gone full out in them yet. From above, the forefoot outsole extends very wide out on the lateral side and also has a flange on the medial side. I didn't notice it while moving in points where I was retrieving balls from one side of the court to the other. I'd be interesting to hear the experiences of someone who slides and drags a foot. The lateral outsole extension does seem greater than what I've seen on some Adidas models.

Overall, my impression of these shoes is positive. I didn't expect a durability shoe to be so immediately comfortable. I'll update on wear after I have more months wearing these shoes.

Is this to say that it still squeezes the toebox but the squeeze is slightly squeezier than the SMC but much squeezier than the SFX?

What generation of the SMC are you referring to?
In terms of toe box squeeze in the same size I feel the least squeeze (most toe room) in the SFX3, followed by the Xtreme and the tightest toe box in the Adidas SMC. All three shoes are in the same nominal size.

I haven't tried the SMC2, so I think the pair that I have is no longer made and might be the first generation of the SMC.

Will these ever be available in 12.5US?

Thanks for asking. The new white version will be available in August in a broader range of sizes, from 7 1/2-13 with half sizes, as well as 14, so yes 12 1/2 will be available then. We will also have women's in size 7-10.

Thanks
