Federer - 2009 Wimbledon - last match was exactly 12 years later
Nadal - 2022 Australian Open - last match was exactly 1 year later
Djokovic - 2023 French Open - ??????

Amazing motivation and love of the sport by Federer. I don't think Nadal and Djokovic set the Grand Slam record if he retires a few years after 2009.

Sampras at age 32 thought he was physically unfit. Federer wasn't unfit and would be crazy to retire when fit.

Federer is not special about love for the sport. In fact Novak is playing for almost as long as him even without major fan support. Amazing motivation to keep going.
