Play tennis and read Stanilavski.

I have done as you have commanded! Stanislavski was a big influence on Lee Strasberg, and can be viewed as the real father of method acting. Brando, Dean and Monroe studied at Stasberg's Actors Studio. I still remember what Stanislavski wrote about projecting energy and commanding an audience.

Don't forget to read The Theater and Its Double by Antonin Artaud!

Ski manufacturers have a history in manufacturing tennis racquets.
Tennis racquet molds once used by Fischer have been used by Pacific and Tecnifibre.

Bretagne is a coastal region of France and the home of one of my best Internet friends. He is in seclusion today to “celebrate” the birthday of his tennis idol, possibly by stabbing a life size doll of the idol with 34 voodoo pins.

Pin it on Konstantin Stanislav, and I think he might well be the reason how television writing came to: Get your character up a tree, then get him down, in 30 minutes.

Fond memories for me include a train ride from Calais to Amsterdam with perpetual wood in my pocket as a Finnish lass attempted to subvert me from my planned path to Switzerland in favor for her plot to make me her summertime lover in Helsinki. God only knows how my life plot would have changed if my Eurrail pass had paid free passage beyond Copenhagen! ???

Copenhagen is not a great tourist destination for tourist bus visits, or photographing skylines. It's a nuanced city, and its beauty is subtle and requires some time and nuanced thought to appreciate. It's also a great city for enjoying life, especially in the summers with long warm days and short nights.

Death on the Installment Plan is a novel by Louis-Ferdinand Céline, who also wrote Journey to the End of the Night.

"End Of The Night"

Take the highway to the end of the night
End of the night, end of the night
Take a journey to the bright midnight
End of the night, end of the night

Realms of bliss, realms of light
Some are born to sweet delight
Some are born to sweet delight
Some are born to the endless night
End of the night, end of the night
End of the night, end of the night

Realms of bliss, realms of light
Some are born to sweet delight
Some are born to sweet delight
Some are born to the endless night
End of the night, end of the night
End of the night, end of the night

The title and some of the lyrics were inspired by the 1932 French novel Journey To The End Of The Night by Louis-Ferdinand Celine.

The lyrics:

Realms of bliss, realms of light
Some are born to sweet delight
Some are born to sweet delight
Some are born to the endless night

Are taken almost verbatim from the poem Auguries Of Innocence by William Blake, which includes the passage:

Every morn and every night
Some are born to sweet delight

Some are born to sweet delight
Some are born to endless night

Bars in some cities used to close around midnight, sending the night owls home to watch television until what used to be "sign-off" time, when the few stations they had would often show a lone pilot flying high, and one would hear the accompanying poem known as High Flight.

High Flight by John Gillespie Magee

Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth
And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
Sunward I’ve climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth
of sun-split clouds,—and done a hundred things
You have not dreamed of—wheeled and soared and swung
High in the sunlit silence. Hov’ring there,
I’ve chased the shouting wind along, and flung
My eager craft through footless halls of air. . . .

Up, up the long, delirious, burning blue
I’ve topped the wind-swept heights with easy grace
Where never lark nor ever eagle flew—
And, while with silent lifting mind I’ve trod
The high untrespassed sanctity of space,
Put out my hand, and touched the face of God.

Lights were supposed to turn off and televisions went black in Soviet Russia in a different manner.

USSR TV End of Day Sign-off with Anthem (Translated into English + Subtitled)
Before the advent of twenty-four-hour television, channels would shut off broadcasts at a given time each night and show a "sign-off" to tell viewers to turn off the TV. Most channels all around the world (including this one, TB CCCP) showed the national anthem accompanied by patriotic images or videos; others (Like RTÉ in Ireland) would broadcast a prayer or religious song.

I enjoyed seeing that @Mike Bulgakov, thanks for posting!

Age, forty is the old age of youth and fifty the youth of old age according to Victor Hugo. But seriously this was supposed to be the year my girlfriend is gonna march [literally in March] down the aisle and then the global pandemic happened . . . claiming my nan just this May, she was 99 [thought of quitting TTW or doing a dgold-kind of recharge sabbatical].
