Does anyone know where I can get still new DR98 in L2?
@Hydra1995, If TW doesn't have any available, check the site named after a jungle. There are smaller local pro shops that list there and will ship to you. I just did a search and saw that a shop has the frame in an L2.

TW is out of them completely and I was scrambling searching for them the last 2 weeks new. I hit with the DR 98+ model, and it's even harder to find! I eventually and luckily was able to find two new ones in Australia to ship here. That one posted on "Jungle River" in grip size 4 1/4 is $210. Yeesh.

Demo the new one... You might just like it as much or even more... or maybe not. You'll know after you try it. It's been said it's a little more stiff in the hoop, and the mold looks more like the old XI version to me.

Got some new DR 98+ grip 5 that I will never touch again, mint condition

Having broke one I can’t trust them and what’s the point in using a frame you couldn’t get then and which is almost impossible to find now

Yeah I remember your thread about one of them breaking. I think Yonex grips feel a little bit bigger than other brands. I used a 4 3/8 when I hit with Wilson, and now have 4 1/4 grips on my DR 98's so I couldn't use 4 5/8. Good luck offloading the rest of your frames though!

I've owned the new Ezone 98 and it definitely plays more crisp in the hoop which gives shots a bit more pop/speed off of the strings I thought. But the shape is actually more elongated and rectangular like Yonex frames of old but different from the Ezone Xi 98 which is more rounded like the Ai/DR generation of racquets.

I think they look pretty similar, but Ithink the paint jobs throw the eye off. It does look like the XI is a little wider though.

Photos can indeed be deceptive. Having owned all of them (and still owning the DR and Ai frames), I can confirm that the current Ezone 98 and the Xi 98 are the farthest apart regarding head shape. It's not significant but the Ezone 98 is truly more rectangular than its predecessors.

The XI actually looks maybe even a little sqareish? How did the XI feel compared to the other three?

Best distinction I can make between the Xi 98 and its descendants is that as the design has evolved the feedback has gotten more muted. The Xi 98 was not uncomfortable in any sense for me but I was definitely much more connected to my shots. Also, due to the roundness (squareness) of the head, the stringbed seemed more open and definitely provided the best access to spin that I've experienced with any of the Ezone 98 family. It's a great racquet.

No matter how good or how bad a racquet is now, no matter how good or bad the sales are are, it’s all irrelevant. There’s a 2 year cycle and when that 2 year cycle is over the racquet is discontinued.
What I was trying to say was, there is no updated DR 98 this cycle.

All About? I also just ordered 2 4 1/4 sticks........I had to go through the jungle:(
That’s how I found them too. I was charged 220 for one of the last two L3s they had left. Oh well .. at least it had the swing weight I wanted.

Yonex EZONE DR 98 is the greatest stick ever manufactured. RIP.

Agreed. Though I’m hopeful that the next iteration (which should come out next summer, right?) will play like the DR for 2 reasons.

First, not nearly as much love (and I doubt sales) for the new EZONES. Second, with the new VCORE line getting more flexible, Yonex will likely want to differentiate the next Ezone kind by going a little more flexible.

That’s my hope anyways.

That sucks. I posted on here where to find a few of them for cheaper to try and save people money, but I guess TT didn't like this and never showed my thread as I had 0 responses. Luckily I found 2 DR98+ frames in Australia for 120 per racquet after searching for days.
