Yonex E Zone. What does “DR” mean?

Does anyone know what the difference between the EZONE 98 DR vs the EZONE 98 with out DR is? It also appears on TW the EZONE 98 is only available in DR as EZONE 100. Also getting conflicting info on siffeeence between blue vs green although it looks like there is a blue and green with different specs. Also how’s the new red one?

There’s already a thread with all the info. It’s in the racquets section.

Dr is dynamic repulsion. Dr is softer more flexy.

No dr is stiffer upper hoop with less flex. But it’s nothing like a pure drive or aero. It’s still a comfortable racket.

how similar would the DR 100 play against the Ezone 98? since DR 100 is "stiffer", would it feel/play similar to the Ezone 98? other then the increased sweet spot of the 100?

Also I wonder why everybody’s going with the 98 rather than the 100, I would think that the larger sweet spot would be more interesting to people?

100 has more open crosses than 98 iirc, much more spin but less control than the 98.

Apart from string pattern i really liked the new ezone 100, but the dr98 was much better than newer ezone 98....... new 98 just didnt swing or feel right.

Thats what ive been gathering from research. It should get here next week and im looking forward to trying it with a few 17g strings I have in mind
That's good. I love the Ezone Dr 100. Would like to try the Dr98 though. I find that the dr 100 plays like a pure aero for some reason.

17g has definitely become my preferred gauge with my DRs. I had to play thicker gauges for several years before I switched to the Yonex because I broke string so relentlessly in my Speed MP and TFight 315s. Having 8 mains through the middle on the DR seems to have improved my string life so I was able to move to 17 for a bit more spin and feel.
