Yonex EZone 100 Tour - Japan only version

i got my 2nd 100 tour strung... and glad to see the SW is basically matching
(going from Rexis speed 1.25 to PTP 1.25 increased SW by 7 points)

racquet 1: 329 SW, 7 HL strung with Yonex Poly Tour PRO 1.25
racquet 2: 330 SW, 7 HL strung with Yonex Poly Tour SPIN 1.25
What tension did you go with and what’s your weight with overgrip ?

Was the original sw machine incorrect

As original post said

SW 322, 8 HL. (strung with Rexis Speed 125)

Or did you add lead to the frame ?

Thanks- have you used this service before?
I haven’t but it appears reputable and a good value 240 + shipping (maybe use a CC with protection for the first order). I have the 2025 ez100 (from TWE) and would likely prefer the tour as I spec it up with a leather grip, but i think i am going in the direction of softer rackets for the golfers elbow.

I got it! Grip 3 strung with Volkl Cyclone 18g at 52 lbs. It's an amazing racket that just isn't to my tastes. Please send me a message if anyone is interested in purchase. $300 plus shipping and handling.

Salut les gars, regarde le percept 100 D.
Jeter le grip et le remplacer par 2 surgrips + surcharger le capuchon avec un demi surgrips.
Its perfect

What did you like and not like about the frame
It's a great racket. I liked everything about it (the stability, easy power, depth, spin, sweet spot, touch, feel, etc) when I could time it.

I don't have the best mechanics so it was hard for me to time it. I can muscle a 98 to make up for lackluster mechanics.

is it way more power than a 2025 ezone 98? i have mine weighted up to 335g. love my racquet but would love just a touch more net clearance and spin on it. Like the idea of the big sweetspot on the 100 tour but worried about hitting long as the 98 feels pretty powerful already.

I go to Tokyo for work some times. I just have the shop hold it for me until I get there or send it to the office. Yonex CUSTOMFIT is a very nice service. On delivery, the store do a Yonex Precision machine weighing, balance and swing weight read on all sticks you buy, without charging. The CUSTOM FIT program is ¥2000, and includes specced weight and balance, 0.5" extension etc. A ridiculously cheap option for Japan only. I wish Yonex would allow this in the US, but I guess it's impractical. I also ordered a CUSTOM FIT extended Regna 98 for my buddy, so I hope to test that out to see if I like it. I liked the feel of the Regna but not how it played. Needed too much customization to get to where I like it.
Hi Sardines, how long does the process take? I will be in Tokyo in late December, are you able to place in order before hand? Also, what store ? Any info is greatly appreciated!

Thanks

I got a new Ezone 100 off of an e-b-a-y- seller. For context, I'm a 4.5 player that has been playing with the Ezone 100 for the past two years. I have the 2025 Ezone 100 which was easy switch from the 2022 Ezone 100. I've always been messing around with adding weight, strings, etc to fine tune my Ezone 100 experience. I saw the Ezone 100 Tour on YouTube and decided to give it a try.

Have been playing with it for two weeks now. Here's my unprofessional thoughts on the stick.

The two words I would use to describe the 100 tour is "stable" and "solid." It's very similar to the standard Ezone 100 but just feels more solid when hitting shots. There's less vibration or hollowness as compared the regular 100. It's still very maneuverable. Volley's are just perfect. Obviously, it's a bit heavier but feels more head light.

My 100 Tour weights in at 314g unstrung and 335g strung with a Wilson pro overgrip.

Ok that's it. I'm not a racquet reviewer so your assessment might be different than mine.

I'm going to keep playing with it as I love to hit hard shots... go big or go home, right?

I've strung it with gut in the mains (shoulder pain issues force me to use gut) and restring sync in the crosses (53/50 lbs). I mostly hit flatter groundstrokes and this works very well for me.

Great info! How would you say launch angle compares with the 100 (or better yet the 98 if you’ve played with it )

Would you guess it’s the same RA rating as the regular 100?

I don't know if I am good enough to tell the difference on the RA rating. But I think it's the same RA as the regular 100.

For me, launch angle is very dependent on which types of strings you put in the mains. I'm using Gut in the mains and restring Sync in the crosses. Both are round strings and so it's very predictable. Between the tour and the regular, launch angle is the same, IMHO.

I'm afraid unless you're staying for a month, you can't do it. I go to Lafino or Windsor, both want prepayment for CUSTOM FIT. The lead time is 10 business days for specific weight/balance, and about 30 for extended length special orders. Helps to have an office that can hold stuff there. I just claim tax back when I leave and show them a Yonex stick, which are my own.

Curious if anyone has any thoughts on on comparing the 100 Tour against the 100+ extended version? Likely, they have the same swing weight. I'm guessing the Tour will feel more maneuverable.

Thanks for the reply. I grew up(still using SRQ 500 long) playing with a 28" extended Yonex so getting an ezone 100+ and having extended would be amazing for me. Unfortunately my Japan trips are only 14-20 days tops usually. I wish there was a way to prepay via e-mail or online. =(

How good is your Japanese? Pretty sure they will have reviewed it somewhere on the 'tube. I've not looked but already put in an order for a CUSTOM FIT 100T which sadly won't be ready for another 30 working days!
Hey Sardines,

Did you extend the length on the Ezone 100T? I am thinking about extending it by .5in. Any insight is greatly appreciated!

I reached out to some of the stores you frequent(thank you for that) and they are willing to take my order in advance before my arrival in Japan. I'm contemplating between Ezone100+ custom fit(heavier) or 100T extended

Would love one of these. Easiest way to import without going to japan?
Looks like they're selling it from the large rainforest in the world's japan site (as someone mentioned) which will ship to the US. But, if you don't want to do that, you can use Blackship. They'll give you a local japan address and then Blackship will ship it to you. I used this service once, a year ago because my son lost his mobile phone in Japan and it was at a local lost and found (we had already flew back). You'll pay them a service fee for taking your package and shipping it here. Might be a bit cheaper but you can't really get around delivery (by air or sea) unless you or a friend brings it back on a plane after traveling there.

Splurged and bought on on the bay, which hopefully comes in by the end of this week.

I liked the regular 100 version, though I felt like it needed a little more weight since I'm used to swinging rackets around 335-340 grams strung up, so I think I'll like this version that's the same unstrung weight as my Regna 98.

I haven't demoed yet but I similarly hit with a static weight around 340g. All the reviews say they didn't really like the 98 or the 98 tour (I usually hit with a 97/98 sq in). I'm very curious about this super forgiving racket (used to hit with 100 sq in a few years back).

no that would be silly. i have only seen size 2 & 3
Like the Regnas, I believe these Japanese only versions come in just those two sizes. So, you can't get a Regna or this Ezone 100 Tour in Grip sizes smaller than 1/4 (2) or bigger than 3/8 (3). Kind of sucks for anyone who plays at 1/2 or 1/8, but Grip Size 3 fits me perfectly in just about every major racket manufacturer.

Yeah! I left a comment asking. They didn't test the RA for the video
I wonder if they would do the same thing with the 100s as they did with the 98s. The Flex difference between the EZONE 98 and Tour is only one point lower on the Tour vs the Regular (63 vs 62).

The EZONE 100 RA is 68, so I wonder if for this Tour version they lower it by one point. I can't imagine it'd be significant lower.

How are you liking the racket now that you've had more time to use it?

I havent had as much time to play as I would like the past few months.
it is a great racket, esp for those used to heavier frames.
only thing is it does hurt my arm on certain days, so trying to experiment with string/tension.
it could just be me from my excessive shanking/framing

Anyone played both the EZ100 with leather and the EZ100T? Wondering where that 10gms went to in the frame. Currently playing with a 24 EZ100 with leather and wondering if it's worth picking this up to try.

I've tried the 100. 100T, 100T+ and 100+. Obviously on shorter, forearm driven shots, the shorter lighter racquets will be a smidge more "flickable", with the 100T (at least for me) the easiest with the added heft.. In terms of power, the 100T+ has the most heft, and hence a bit slower to roll over initially. The 100+ is very powerful, too powerful for me to rein in without major changes. The 100T+ has even more length of shot but strangely because of the added weight, allows a bit more wiggle room to control that power. Strangely, as I've found with the post 2020 + frames from Yonex, the 100+ isn't 69.85cm/27.5" but more like 69.5, unstrung. The 100T+ from CUSTOM FIT (which is a buddy's frame) is actually 69.85 because it was specced that way.
Curious if anyone has any thoughts on on comparing the 100 Tour against the 100+ extended version? Likely, they have the same swing weight. I'm guessing the Tour will feel more maneuverable.
Personally it depends on your game. The 100T+ was specced to 27.5" by my buddy. I personally don't like it off the ground, especially inside the court, because it's just too powerful to swing out on, and my brain has to be rewired to pull back 20-30% to get the short angle putaways, which is difficult for me to do. It's great on 1st serves in the ad court out wide. If you like the 100+ and want something heavier but not necessarily a lot more swing weight, go with that. After playing with the 100t+ for about 1.5hrs, 0.25" wouId be more usable overall. I personally enjoy the Ultra Tour 98 quite a bit more.
