Every racket should come with two colors: The normal PJ, and then black. Just straight gloss black, don't even need to put accents. Probably cheap for them, and we will always have a good option if we don't like the colorway. I know I would probably go for the black option 80% of the time
but that would actually make sense

that would be nice, but I think the black would be too easy to counterfeit

Regardless of paint...it's not going to win any Grand Slam championships..
Head, Babolat and Wilson has that locked in for many years to come..

I like it, it's bright, fun, fresh...why not. Remember the time when ProStaff V14 came out and everybody hated it that's not black anymore? And now many of these (including myself) had to admit that the colour looks great! And outside in the sun when it changes colour it's awesome.

We have a significant sample size for me to say that overall people like it, but also there is a significant share that does not like. So apparently it is a win.

But also this is looking in absolute. Ideally we would have to make such a poll for other brands/models, and see if the dislike to like ratio is as large. My gut feeling is that this is a polarizing design compared to more standard one. I guess it is the price to pay when opting for a bright and flashy design (even more on the new Head Radical, but also Head Extreme lines).

Jokes on Yonex I actually didn't even particularly liked the current Ezone cosmetics black or default. The old font looks very unique I think and the newer is more bland and unoriginal. I like the new paint job in principle, because they found something not many other racquets have used before. Showing more vibrant colours in a power racquet might be a move towards women on the recreational level. I think it was Tennis Spin who said about the Babolat Pure Drive 2021, that the Blue and Black didn't appeal that much for women looking for a new racquet, even though the frame is otherwise perfect for them. His sale volumes on that paint job was much more geared towards men.

It's kind of a feminine color and I get the decision making as a lot of females use these racquets. Funny thing is that at my club a lot of females that use the Ezone, have the Osaka version which is black.

The color is non-functional; it's how the racquet plays that's important. The blue indicates the model is a competitor of the Babolat Pure Drive and that Yonex wants to attract the attention of customers who are looking at the wall of racquets. I also think the color appeals to teens - an important audience to build brand loyalty with.

I agree that the colour is a non-functional aspect of the product itself BUT if something looks like crap to you (not talking about the Ezone now) you won´t feel comfortable to use it right? To me it is quite easy...if the racquet looks good to you → you feel good with it → you are confident playing with it.

I personally would not play with an ugly frame (from my perspective) even if all the other aspects were awesome.

I cannot play with any Tecnifibre frame, since I don´t like white racquets...even if they do play very well. Some folks like it on the other hand :) and that´s the magic of choice today.

I have a bad elbow and played with the Head MicroGel Radical for years even though I thought the racquet graphics were hideous! I sometimes play with the ProKennex Black Ace 300 and don't like the graphics on that either but, in the end, it doesn't really matter what colors a racquet is painted. It's all about the functionality. If you were playing with the new Yonex Ezone and winning lots of matches, well, that's all that matters!

It's actually interesting how the new versions of the Ezone and PD have adopted lighter, somewhat more feminine colors. It seems like both manufacturers are clearly targeting the female demographic which is probably not a bad idea as females make up nearly 50% of the pie and females may be more drawn to using color to pick a frame than men. As much as I like a nice gloss black frame, not every racquet needs to be dark in color I guess. That said I will be looking forward to an alternate color of these frames in the future. I voted neutral as I will still buy one if I like the frame and I've come to like bright frames lately as while the current Extreme pj isn't for everyone I've grown to like the highlighter as it works well with various string colors.

I don’t think light blue is overly feminine.

I love wearing matching light/neon blue shirts (or black with blue accent) and wristbands

I love smurf blue on cars. I had a Grabber Blue Mustang. I don't have anything against light blue or purple. I don't even mind pink strings in my racquet as my Extreme Pro looked nice with pink Enso Pro strings. That doesn't mean that the colors don't tilt towards the feminine end of the spectrum.

My only gripe with it is the same thing as the new Percept. They removed the Yonex logo in the underhoop which I love.

Seems to be a brand-wide trend in the entire lineup, sadly.

Cost cutting measure, likely driven by bean counters. Logo application is a manual process that is somewhat rigorous, per TW's vid as of 4 years ago (starts at 4m20s, where manual application and quality check is performed):

I don't think either looks bad but you can argue it's pretty redundant to have "Yonex" in big letters on the side of the throat, again one inch above on the throat, and then the double Y at the bottom of the throat. I think people realize when holding it that it's a Yonex racquet.

I did say it's a gripe and not a huge turn off or something.
Still, it's a nice touch that was there in all previous models and other yonex lines.

The people who don't like it are almost catching up to people who like it: what a ! This poll is more entertaining than election polls lol. :-D

Have there been similar polls for other rackets? I kind of think this is the case almost for each and every racket. Presumably at least a good majority. In that others like and others don't. Or are there paintjobs that are universally well received? E.g. a black subdued paintjob.

idk why but this is the color of an off brand energy drink, I imagine it may look better in person but this is the Yonex answer to the radical 2025

hope not. last thing I want is a bright clash even though I’d probably never use one
You will be happy as the Clash V3 is actually on the other end of the spectrum. It's not what I call good looking but it's flat black with red accents and looks more similar to V1.

@heavyD yeah I got a glimpse of it in another thread, kinda sad tho b/c I feel this current clash pj was fire
I'm sure over time we will get used to a lot of these new paint jobs as we see them more and more over time but on first take is sure feels like a lot of the major 2025 releases save for the Gravity have taken a bit of a step back in the cosmetics department.

This is like that new jaguar logo. Please leave the pastel colors in the fast fashion garbage bin where they belong.

Between the beige VCore and now a periwinkle blue Ezone, it seems like Yonex is appealing to the ladies more than the men.
Since cars came up, I think this could easily be a Lambo or new Porsche color, if you see it in the sunlight, or an M3 competition....
I'd say in person it's metallic blue.
