Anyone hit side by side with the new Yonex EZONE 98 305g 2020 vs. Wilson Blade 98 v7 16x19?
What strings/tension did you use?
How would you compare the two frames?

I get my 2020 ezone 98 tomorrow. I've got a V7 blade 16x19 as well. So I'll be stringing the ezone and maybe throwing on a leather grip plus a couple grams of lead around 3/9 or maybe 12. I'm planning on stringing with either Kirschbaum Max Power 17 or PTP 16 or 17g at around 51-53 lbs . I'll report back my thoughts in a couple days when I get back on court.

Ezone hits a way nastier, spinner ball by a longshot. The Blade has better control, at the expense of being able to do anything good with the shot. It's a weak noodle, versus the new Ezone being a bit of a slingshot.

They are both a major downgrade from the previous Ezone, the new Prestige Tour, the new Pure Aero VS, and even the new Pure Strike (which I didn't care much for either).

Hi Dansan, let me know if you are interested in selling the 2020 Ezone 98. I've been playing with the DR 98 for years now and am wanting to try out the 2020.

Downgrade even compared to the green ezone 98 ?we shall see. I prefer low SW’s.

The ezone lacks plow and plays firm. Very whippy, though. Definitely a platform-type frame.

The blade has great control, but that rubber Feel Flex thing it has going isn't for everybody.

EZONE 98+ probably the best option.

Ezone is more powerful, crisper feel and slightly stiffer. I found serving with the ezone to be a breeze. The blade is lower powered, very soft and doesn’t have a lot of pop. Feel on both is great.

I tried both and for starters I wouldn’t compare them. In other words, I find it hard for someone to like both and having a difficult time deciding. Pretty different feel, you will now which one you like more right after the first hit side by side.

Ezone 98: crisp, powerful and very maneuverable.Good for all levels since it can be customized a lot. In a nutshell it’s like a more controlled and comfortable pure drive. Easy to pick n go, easy blind pick.

Blade 98 16x19.
Loads of control, feel and connected. Low power but a lot of plow through if you do have your own power. Feels a bit heavier than specs would suggest. Amazing racquet for advanced players that don’t compete as much anymore. Great racquet for college players up and coming. Great racquet for tennis purists who love the plush feel without the heavy weight.
Doesn’t need any modifications really unless you like headlight balance.

I liked the Blade a lot and didn’t like the Ezone much. For reference I like the following racquets: prestige, gravity, Vcore pro Hd, radicals pre 2015. Plush, controlled racquets.
