Yonex percept cracks

After seeing multiple threads of the percepts cracking and Karue Sell confirming he had three precepts crack in one tournament trip it has me left with questions. How does a racquet with a defect like this make it to store shelves? What is a reasonable expectation for yonex to do in response to this? Should I not hold my breath for them to even acknowledge the issue?

I was the one, who created a thread about this:

The guy i am hitting with, gets it replaced everytime it cracks (4 times already). I asked for how long and he said at least a year.

I played it and it is a really good stick (especially the 100D) but i could not trust. It would be a no go.

The Yonex rep said its a problem of the first batch, but tbh i dont believe him. Looks like a missconstruction.

This is why Murray is not using the percept

Is it only the Percept 100 that has cracked or are there any other versions like the H or the D involved and how prevalent is the problem?
I haven’t heard any cracking here so far but I could be wrong;

I have seen 3x100 and 1x100D crack at the throat.

I have 97Ds and theres no cracks yet, I’ve checked regularly since reading the above cited thread.

I’ve played with them 4-5 times a week for a couple of months.

I’ll report here if they crack at some point.

One of my players had a couple of 97s crack in the same spot in the throat. They were definitely first batch racquets since he got them right after the release. He’s gotten those replaced since then and so far so good with the later batches

Have used a 97D on and off for a while now and also no sign of a crack on mine. I'll keep watch but got it used so I'd rather not stress test it too much since I wouldn't be able to get a replacement

i'm sure no one is "stress testing them"... rather they are just *practicing* :)
would be curious to see the level/rhs of folks who are cracking racquets...
lol, maybe i'm not good enough/not hitting hard enough to crack mine... (eg. karue)

Both my Percept 97D rackets are cracking on both sides at the inner joining of the throat and hoop. Have had them 6 months and play doubles 2-3 times a week rotating them.

For reference I have them strung by a reputable stringer with Signum pro firestorm 1.30 at 48lbs. Playing 4.5 level tennis (UTR 7ish maybe?). My play style is hard-hitting I suppose.

Isn’t Karue stringing at like 66 lbs? It’s no excuse whatsoever, but the vast majority of us aren’t doing anywhere near that. It may be a contributing factor.

Yonex has some history with frames cracking at or near the throat. There was a flurry of posts on this board about 10-15 years ago about their 1500 and 1700 series frames cracking, and the V-Con 17 frame as I recall had to be redesigned because of numerous complaints about cracks.
