Yonex Poly Pro Tour - 3 colors

Hello
Yonex Poly Pro Tour comes in three colors.
I know that yellow and black are slightly different.
How is the color blue?
Are yellow and blue the same?

Yellow plays the best in my opinion, then blue, then black. I’ve had all three at one point. Yellow is the most lively. I used 16L in all three.

OP,

-"usually", the more color pigments in a string , the softer it plays!
-reds tend to be softest
-grays, whites, are stiffer IMO/IME
-the light blues stiffer than the deep blues
-the differences are sometimes very clear and/or very mute
-when everything else is the same/similar, a side/side test is the best/preferred way to tell them apart
-with polys it is most clear!, with other string types ,(multis, synguts) it is a bit more difficult to differentiate
-for more info on this phenomenon, run a search here on TW boards
-several threads on the subject

I used the Yellow variant of Poly Tour Pro for a long time and loved it. Switched once to black and could immediately feel the difference, so went straight back to yellow. Short of it is, Yes, colour does make a difference to playability!

Would still be using this string if it wasn't for the fact that it broke on me every 30 minutes!

I feel like just in general the color dye has the same properties in all polys. Black polys are generally more muted, blues are comfortably firm, yellow is lively, and red has a softness element to it

the lighter the string color is the softer it is 2:15, this is my experience too

The yellow is the best color IMO. It has a “rough” kind of texture to it, in 1.25 and 1.20. The black and blue are more slick. They are almost different strings.

There are 4 colours, it’s also available in pink which felt fantastic in a gut poly hybrid. It was pretty similar to yellow for me.
Interesting I have 4 packs of the pink that I've never used. I'll be sure to hybrid them one day. (y)

I like the yellow as well, but I always thought it was more smooth than rough.

It’s not textured the same way ALU rough is textured. I’ve used three reels of this stuff. The surface is just a little more course than the other colors, which are shiny and slick. Similar to the rev tour is shiny and slick.

Is graphite colour Poly Tour Pro seriously more firm than the yellow one? Yesterday tested it for the first time(yellow) moving from RPM Blast and so far love it. Stiffness is main factor for my change here due to problems with elbow and on TW university there are only details for the Yellow Poly Tour Pro. Like it really matter. No info about graphite one.

Is yellow too lively to pair with gut mains in an 18x20? Right now I have black but it’s still slightly too stiff.
I've used both yellow and black in a guy/poly hybrid in my Wilson Ultra Tours (18x20) and preferred the black as it was slightly deader and less powerful (although I thought YPTF was far superior to YPTP in a gut hybrid). If black is too stiff even with gut in the mains then you either need to drop poly altogether or go for a poly even softer such as T1 Ghostwire or Isospeed Cream.

I’m planning to try it one more time since it’s been a while since I last restrung. It could be that the poly is dead and is killing my elbow, as it originally was great

Thanks. What about Combi yellow 1,15mm Mains and blue in crosses? Anybody tried or Idea If it might Work? I only have 2 Sets....tried blue 1,15mm crosses with poly Air in Mains...was OK...but nothing special

The colours of the same type of string are overrated. I think this is a myth fuelled by people who have no idea about tennis.
No difference in SBS (stringbed stiffness) can be measured.
If you are a colour fetishist, you can combine the colours with each other.
You won't notice any difference except in your imagination.

Not true. The dye for the blue is actually not made in-house from Yonex. Do you know what you are talking about?

In my experience, blue is the stiffest for both PTP and PT strike out of all the colors. You can def feel it while stringing the crosses..
