Yonex Poly Tour Strike (1.25 mm) black vs. grey version

#1
Hey guys,

is there any major difference between the two colours? I've tried the black version recently in my SV 95 recently and really liked it, especially the durability. I'm thinking of picking up a reel once it gets on sale somewhere but I'm not sure wether I should also test the grey version before that.
Experiences with 1.2 mm version are also appreciated...

Its been my experience with strings that are available in different colors is that the black plays stiffer and with less feel than the lighter colors. I know that's a generalization but I cant think of any strings where its not the case.

I have played with both and was even on the playtest here on TW for Poly Tour Strike. Grey plays livelier than black, everything else is pretty much the same. Strike is already a powerful poly IMO so black one suits my game better.

Alright that's great to hear. Then the black will definitely suit my game better as well. Thanks for the info.

Anyone have more feedback on these two colors of the string? I’m about to order another VC98 and will probably put PTP black in one and then order PTS black to put in my current to test out.
