Yonex Polytour pro vs Head lynx

PTP vs regular lynx (not tour/touch)
both soft round polys
anyone that can shed light on the differences between the two? Why is ptp so popular on tour and lynx isnt?
Which one is more powerful?

Both strings are similar - soft and surprising amounts of spin for a round co-poly but there are differences. Main two being that YPTP is lower powered and maintains playability longer than Head Lynx - YMMV.

I tried both and Pro poly tour is a better in a full bed poly but does not last much at least to me. Better spin and better control however lynx felt a little softer than PTP although both very soft.

Lynx feels stiffer to me. PTP is softer and has more of a muted sensation. Power and spin are about the same. But with feel, I prefer PTP.

-these are 2 different class of strings
-h.lynx is a very SOFT copoly in comperason
-y.ptp is a new gen. copoly, comfortable, YES!!, but not SOFT like h.lynx, more like a h.lynx.TOUR, IMO
-h.lynx belongs in the realm of isospeed.CREAM, y.pt.FIRE, lux.smart, lux.savage
-yptPRO is similar to h.sonic.PRO/EDGE, tec.ICE-code, tec.BLACK-code, lux.alu.power/rough

Personally, I like PTP(Yellow) more, also it depends on the rackets. PTP gives me more control compared to Lynx. But I did enjoy the Lynx/Velocity hybrid in GPro. Currently using Ezone 98 2022, PTP just feels right with it.

I think you need to mention the color of ptp also. Also the gauge. Yellow imo is best I thought blue played very different, I really like yellow 1.25 but I’m going to try the thinner 1.2 and 1.15

Lynx gave so much consistency in my experience shots just always go in, although I was playing with a low power 2015 pro staff

are you sure you are thinking about h.lynx and not h.lynx. touch? h.lynx touch is even softer than regular lynx... lynx touch would be more like cream to me. h.sonic.pro is similar to reg. h.lynx I thought.

-IMO/IME h.lynx is soft, very soft
-h.lynx.TOUCH is even softer!!, like a synthetic gut string

-head.sonic.pro USE TO BE heads softest poly
-until h.lynx showed up in the market
-h,lynx showed up after iso.cream, they are comperable IMO

-but also, how soft a string "feels" is all dependent on the player and/or the racquet its used on

Totally agree

Echoing the above Lynx is softer, has more power and I'd say feel. It drops tension slightly faster but I would say durability is roughly the same

Head Lynx is ridiculously soft and bouncy almost like a multi. You might not even know with just a couple hits.

PTP is very comfortable, but it still feels like a poly. You’d never wonder what material it was.

PTP is my favorite string, 1.25 yellow.

Have you PTP 1.2 yellow? I too like PTP 1.25 but curious about 1.2

depends on the gauge... if you compare each gauge the numbers are similar, but with 1.2 the lynx has worse tension loss

also some things just dont come across in the numbers... just gotta see if you like it yourself.
there must be a market for it. like pizza... some people like pineapple on it! strange world we live in...

1.20 drops in tension much quicker than the 1.25 but also that means it creates nice pocketing

Go only 1.5 lbs lower on the cross and it will settle in nicely in a couple of days and few days later even better and durability is Great
