Yonex Power Cushion Fusion Rev

This is not my first Yonex shoe. I also have the power cushion pro and used every shoe imaginable over the years. The Rev is just the most comfortable, best fitting and supportive shoe i have ever worn. My feet want to jump around on court with happiness. Awesome shoe!

I agree. On my feet they have a glove-like fit but still do not squash my feet in the forefoot and toe box. I also ordered the Power Cushion Durable (since they are supposedly even lighter and have a more durable sole) but they are a completely different animal. They run extremely small and are very tight in the toe and forefoot. I promptly exhanged them for another pair of the Power Cushion Rev. Plus, I think the Black/Blue colorway is terrific.

I also have T-22's and Babolat SFX's -- both very good shoes. This new Yonex beats both hands-down. It is a real pleasure to play in these. I do not know about wear yet.

I was planning on trying the Power Cushion Pro's, but have since put that on the back burner due to the Fusion Rev's awesomeness.

Did you get the Power Cushion Durable 2 or the originals?

The original PCD ran slightly long and I thought they had decent toe box room. That's bad news if the latest version is tight in the forefoot.

They were the Durable II. I got them in my regular size 10 and it was very tight all the way around. Although TW describes them as fitting true to size, another big tennis e-tailer recommends going one full size larger on their site. That could work, but I do not feel inclined to play sizing games to that degree. Plus, when jumping sizes to correct one area of poor fit often leads to another part of the shoe not fitting as it should. I do have wide feet in the toe and forefoot area but also need a narrow heel, so they might work just fine for your feet.

The Fusion Rev's are truly excellent, so I decided to pass on trying to make the Durable II fit my feet. The Durable II is a well made shoe, as I would expect from Yonex, and they looked great too. They do have normal lacing -- the curved lacing system on the Fusion Rev really does eliminate any pressure on your feet even when laced up very snugly. I really notice the difference when switching between the Fusions and T-22's. I hope this catches on with Yonex users, since I do not want to go back to conventional lacing in the future.

Thanks for the answer.

No, I have a regular heel and E-width forefoot but with a wide toe spread. The original Durable were fairly good in terms of toe box width, so I'll really have to consider my next purchase. I was really looking to get a pair of durable as practice shoes because I definitely prefer them over Prince T22 which I've been wearing for practice. I wear 12s in the T22 and 11.5 in the PCD. Sounds like I'd have to look at a 12 or 12.5 in PCD2 shoes.

Sounds great, but hopefully they'll adopt the Fusion innovations to the next version of Durables. I've been using the NB MC60s as match day shoes, but they are not very durable. Still love them for the light weight, but the last shape is not as good as on the Yonex shoes.

Seems like we are in exactly the same place, aside from me being a slightly wide D with a wide toe spread, as I was looking at the Durable II as a shoe for grinding through practices. The fact that it has a durability warranty and is light made it sound perfect. It really is a very nice shoe if you can maneuver the fit.

I have not tried Power Cushion Pro. Only the Power Cushion Fusion Rev (and just tried on the Durable II). Out of the box the PCFR is more cushioned all the way around, including the forefoot, compared my T-22's. A big difference is no pinching at all with PCFR right out of the box. My third shoe, Babolat SFX, has an extremely cushioned feel but lacks the fit, support and speed of the PCFR. PCRF has a nice low ride, too. I am loving these shoes big time.

Still wearing my power cushion fusion rev and loving it. My regular power chi soon which I liked, I have abandoned. Also have a couple of unused Swiss K ultra express which I can't touch due to living the rev. No toe jamming ever! Total support! Total comfort beyond anything else I've ever worn

I've been trying a pair of KSwiss Ultra Express and just got a pair of the Yonex PCFR. The fit and weight are outstanding. I haven't played with them, but they feel very good. I'm not a big fan of the black and blue but the feel and fit are hard to ignore.

Played a match in the PCFR last night. My feet were very happy. The traction was outstanding as was the fit and feel. Very cushy, but not flimsy. The weight felt better than advertised also.

Thanks for your comparison to T22.

You are welcome. Don't get me wrong, T-22's are still a terrific shoe. They are inexpensive (especially if you buy 2 at a time), supportive, durable and comfortable once worn for a while. I am spoiled by the Fusion Rev now, so the T-22's feel petty heavy in comparison. Still a good choice for grinding away at practice IMO.

Hey guys,

I know this threads been dormant for a couple weeks but I just have a couple questions. I use the SHT-307 currently (I bought 3 pairs on sale), but I started to need insoles due to developing a low arch and now the 307s are a tad narrow cause my width increased. I wear Asics running shoes that are 2E in width and the forefoot pain is not present. I don't want to bump up to a 4E because that is just too wide. Would the Fusion Rev or the Pro be more suitable for someone who needs a wider forefoot.

Simple answer is yes there is room and the lacing system is really good at giving a fitted feel depending on your adjustments

So both shoes are suitable or does one suit a wider foot better. I also am dabbling with ankle braces so the 'looser' ankle fit of the Pro seems like it would actually be a benefit.

Wow the fusion rev really does seem to be the shoe I have been looking for, for a long time, I have a wide forefoot and midfoot but heel not so much so this seems perfect, my Asics GR6's are way too narrow for my foot not sure what I was thinking buying them as they kill my feet!

How does the yonex fusion rev compare to the NB MC996 v2 in 2E? From what I have read it looks like the yonex is the better shoe for fit, comfort and durability

I would not know about the NB you referenced. I have not felt good in any NB shoe in any width for many years. Every time I give them another time I am always disappointed. I recently added the KSWISS Big Shot 2.5 to the rotation and am loving it. Not quite as wide or soft as the Fusion Rev, but it is still very, very comfortable on my feet. This is another option with some good deals going on right now during transition to the newest colorways. Update to the post you quoted: the durability on the Fusion Rev is nothing to worry about -- they wear better than I expected despite the lack of a durability guarantee.

How about the fit on these trainers, both the fusion rev and k swiss big shot 2.5, did you find that they are true to size and you can stick to your normal size or did you go a size up etc?

Both true to size.

Thanks for all the info, think I'm sold on the fusion rev!

We seem to have a similar foot type so I'm sure we will run into the wide foot fit problem again when they inevitably decide to discontinue the current models

You are welcome. It is an ongoing challenge finding shoes that fit me correctly, which is the reason I decided to try out the Bigshot Light 2.5. Although other e-tailers still have a full range of Fusion Rev's, TW has very limited sizes and looks like they are closing it out -- thus leading me to wonder whether Yonex will continue with this shoe.

Only the paranoid survive.

Yes I think your right about the fusion rev, looks like it is being phased out but luckily TW Europe have plenty in stock in my size.

I wear the T22's but have gotten significantly more mobile and faster (weight loose, training) and they hurt a little now. Been afraid to try anything else because they are so much better than all the shoes I had tried in the past.

interested in the Yonex Cushion Fusion Rev but ouch those colors (at least on TW) and sizes (I am 10.5 D).

Would be interested to hear if the "new" version of this shoe is as good... and which one it is... since it appears to be in phase out..

I can only tell you the fit as I only tried 996v2 2E in store, which is wider than fusion rev, not by a lot, but difference is very noticeable. It's also a hair longer.

Hmmm interesting, I may try them both on and then decide which one I will get

Well damn, TW Europe have sold out on the fusion rev in my size! Luckily other etailers have them available in the black/blue colourway which I prefer anyway :)

Yep, this gets my vote. Unfortunately I stocked up on the Barricade clogs before I discovered the Power Cushion Rev's. Now whenever and wherever I see a chance to grab them I make sure to buy additional. Not only the comfort/lightness, the durability is awesome. I've been using mine 6-7 months on hard courts + clay.

Best shoes by far.

Waited one night and my size is gone from TW Europe in the fusion rev! Only size I can find is a half size up from my usual size 9

You guys convinced me. I'm gonna pull the trigger and buy a pair of the black and blue Fusion Rev. I can still find some online. Thanks for all of the helpful info!
