Yonex Power Cushion Pro Shoes

They are being released in late Feb in Japan. So it will be one or two months longer for them to be available here
Why the delay in releasing this shoes ?? Originally I was told that it will be released right after Australian open...........that is late January, not late march. lol

DJTaurus...actually I found out when I switched to Yonex ages ago that I actually went down half a size in shoe size. Nike and Adidas I wore a size 9...with Yonex I wear a size 8.5....I think Yonex fits more ture to size in my opinion.

If anyone purchase the new eclipsion on black/grey please upload some photos. It seems the first well designed shoe from yonex.
I have Black/pink and I will tell you right now that it is the BEST shoes yonex ever made in this line. Sure, I wish it was bit lighter but then nothing is perfect....

But Nost, the 304's were perfect. They were the lightest shoes Yonex ever made and still had great cushioning. So I do believe their is a perfect shoe.

DJTarus, I have searched the web over and over. I have not found any place that is selling the new eclipsion other than the limited one Nost picked up from the U.K. The regular production shoes will be released in late Feb (as stated by one Japanese retail site). So I think we all still have to wait a bit.

Please take your blasphemy elsewhere, noob!

Lol. Beaty is subjective but show me some yonex shoes that you think have good aesthetics. You could say the cushion pro is decent but overall not sth well balanced in terms of design. Even some lottos shoes have better analogies despite their awful PJ's. Yonex should step up their game in terms of design cause as we can see their fan base is on the rise and their rackets are top notch.

Some people actually play tennis in their tennis shoes rather than just gazing at them lovingly and admiring their beauty.

Noticing your screen name I see that looking good while travelling to the court is important to you too.

Thank you for being offensive for NO reason cause i just pointed that i found yonex shoes not well designed. Imagine how many more sarcastic posts i would get if I dared to say that i found them ugly. Nevertheless my personal car is an Alfa Romeo GT coupe. You ll probably never heard of it in the US. :)

No problemo mate with that. But looking good also in the court can give extra confidence on some people too. :)

When you say "design" most of us think performance when you really mean "looks." This could simply be a language issue, as design can also refer to aesthetics.

In terms of performance, Yonex shoes are some of the best designed shoes available. I'm much more concerned with how the shoes feel on my feet and help me play than how they look.

I really liked the 304s, but I do think that the outsole compound could have been tougher and had more density under the ball of the foot and near the toe. Also, I would have preferred a lower heel stack. Still, one of the great tennis shoes.

Thanks for the explanation mate. I only spoke about the looks when I said design. So my mistake. I don't know how they perform and cause i am a fan of yonex sticks I want to try their shoes too.

Sorry dude I was totally joking around - didn't mean to offend you. Some Yonex shoes are fugly, lol.

Used to have quite a few Alfa Romeo's around here, not much anymore though!

That shoe does not exist anymore, and I didn't really like that one's cushioning as much, It is Not as Thick as the new model.

Really the 304's aren't around anymore? LOL...No fooling.....Nost I was wearing Yonex when you were still probably still wearing diapers. The cushioning in the 304's was just as good as the cushioning they are using now. The only fault with the shoes was that they wore out much faster than the shoes they are releasing now. At least they have improved the rubber compound a bit.

And by the way I still have one pair of 304's that I still use on big single matches. Have to have light shoes on for that.

you may feel like cushioning is just as Good but,,,,,,,,,,it is definitely not as Thick. Recent models are definitely thicker in cushioning,,,like more powercushion material inside. Next you will be saying Powercushion Durable has just as thick cushioning as the Powercushion Pro,,right ? I was told that isn't true either.

Thicker cushioning isn't necessarily better in terms of performance because it tends to raise the stack height which makes the shoe less stable. The ideal shoe would have a paper thin cushion which magically worked extremely well. That would allow the shoe to be very low to the ground yet still cushion the foot.

I thought the 304s were plenty cushioned if not overly cushioned. Do you need more cushioning than the PCP provides?

Thank you WildVolley. Very well said.

Nost you play with added insoles. That changes how a shoe feels. Most people do not use add insoles. So we get a more true feeling for how the shoes really are. Your view is on modified shoes. So you views will be different than ours.

this shoe has Thick powercushion and yet super stable. More stable than PCP. and you are right it is not a low to the ground feel. but so what ? who cares ?

It don't matter. added insole is just custom insole for the arch, it doesn't give me any more cushioning. it is actually hard plastic. Anyway, I am at about 24 hour of playtime with this shoe and it is playing like BRAND New still. Incredible.

Is that both cushioning and outsole wear?
Yes, outsole Is in very good shape as well. very little wear so far. and yet it has very good traction too. This shoe is as close to Perfect shoe ever created. but I will say that it is slightly narrower than Power cushion pro. so which mean some people may have to buy 1/2 size larger. making this shoe slightly narrower made this shoes 100 % more stable than PCP

you can do this if you have this shoe on ?

Hopefully!:)

I need to be able to do that more, because I'm playing a lot of doubles. Good to hear that Yonex shoes keep improving in outsole durability. I got a pair of NB shoes with a durability guarantee and can tell you that they don't hold up compared to Yonex. I'd bet that Adidas have even tougher outsoles, but I like that Yonex is getting better at putting more outsole under the ball of the foot where there's a lot of need for wear resistance.

Well I can't guarantee that it is actually improved in durability. I am not a Huge guy that is over 200 lbs. so I am not as hard on the shoe as some of the Big guys. so I don't wear out the shoe that fast. I change my shoe often because the shoes tend to become not as cushioned as it wears out and I hate that. and I can afford to change shoes often so I do it.

As I stated before Nost. the Japanese retail site says it is coming out late Feb. in Japan. So add another month or two for US release I would say.

Hey, if Ricardo Berankis can score all the latest Yonex gear why can't we?

I'm sure if I posted a grainy vid of him practicing, TT would declare him a 4.5!

WOW,,, isn't that over-charging ? that is Double what USA would sell it for......I know aussies play tough but I dont' like getting ripped off

Didn't you just pay a fourtune for the black/magenta shoes for the UK?

The $199 AUD comes out to $144 USD...still way to high though.

Thanks Michelle. Do you know if you will also have the clay court shoe at the same time?
imajica77,

As of right now, unfortunately it does not look like we will be getting the clay version in.

Michelle, TW

*****EDIT***** Yes! We will be getting the CLAY version in, hopefully in the next couple weeks! :)

I have also noticed that two sites in Canada have them for sell now. Strange how much longer it takes for the US to get products compared to Canada.
