Yonex pro stock

Anni.Angel

Semi-Pro
I know many people say Yonex is not doing pro stock. But I was watching today Blinkova vs Kalinina. And I couldn't ignore the glossy paint on Kalinina's Vcore, when I have a Vcore and mine comes in matte finish.

At this point I am 100% convinced, the racquets of the pros are different. Also got 3 Steam 99 in Blade v7 paint, glossy, and 2 Steam 100 in Blade v7 paint, glossy.
They are really awesome racquets.

Any opinions?

Do the Steams have a molded grip, or is it part of the hairpin?

I believe yonex is more akin to babolat as they don’t make custom models for pros but they do paint older models to look like their new products. They are often sprayed in glossy paint for pro preference or tv cameras. I always thought the vcore 95 2017 I believe shapo had a pj of looked beautiful compared to the matte counterpart.

Most brands do gloss for the TV so it looks better.
Yonex don't seem to have 'pro-stock' they just paint whatever the player uses to look like current model.
Eg Wawrinka using a customised 95D, Hurkacz on the VCore Pro 97 with 20mm beam painted like the 21mm beam version, Kyrgios on Xi or Ai 98.

Yonex does custom molds and layups.
One case, among others, basically admitted by Yonex was Hewitt who at the end of his career who had a frame which was a combination of different molds and a custom layup.
