Yonex RD-Ti 80

Feña14

G.O.A.T.
Could somebody please tell me what they think of this racket. I have no clue about it but a friend of mine aslways uses yonex rackets, and is looking for a new one.

I would like to know about:

SPIN
COMFORT
power
feel
serves
volleys
groundies

Any information will be greatfully received.

I demoed this racquet recently and thought it did really well on all of the factors you listed with the large exception of serve, which was fairly weak, with some spin but no pop. RDX500 would be a better choice IF serve is important issue.

Yes sir, everything except the serve is really good when its stock. but with some lead tape at 12, 2:30, and 9:30 and at the handle. it makes everything better especially the serve, at least thats what how mine is. Now its almost as good as my POG in serving.

Thanks for the replies guys, what I am really interested in is the spin as he used my POG and has become a spin junkie. He wants something with similar spin.

How is the spin on the racket?

Thanks,

-Liam

Oh, so that 'friend of yours' is considering switching from his POG only a few months after he gave up on the i.prestige? Nice of you to keep us posted Liam.

You what Big Dave????

I have two POG midplus rackets and would never even consider switching, you can't get any POG's in England and I am not willing to sell one of my rackets. POG is the best racket made, why would I consider using a "toy" compared to it. The only reason I have experimented in the past 2-3 months is that my POG that I had for 9 years was cracked and wouldn't last much longer, but now I have them I just laugh at the "attempts" to beat the POG.

It appears I can't even do a friend a favour, whats the world coming to!!!

yo liam i have the newer POG and to me their is only a little less spin w/ the yonex. people say i put a lot of spin no matter which racquet i use so i guess you can't take my word for it. i read that you have a fischer pro #1, how does that compare to your POG. im interested in that racquet.

Yeah I have a Fischer Pro # 1 and it's is horrible, it is really stiff and has a decent feel compared with other players rackets.

The spin is not good though, and it is below average in every department for my game, but don't take my word for it. I hear you can (soon) demo Fischers of TW. The power is too much aswell, the comfort is supreme, if thats what your aften the give it a go!

Personally I would stick with the POG.

The Pro One is my racket, It has amazing control, power, feel and most importantly comfort.

If you can get holf of one never let it out of your sight!!!!
They are quite rare to find.

Pro One is much better than the FT version of it imo.

Liam

hey liam....i found this post that said that you liked it about amonth and a half ago in may...so now wus the deal dood?

If your looking for comfort then look no further, it a great racket for comfort.

Simply it had too much power for me in the end, not enough spin. The control was nice but I just couldn't "feel" the ball, even though the general feel is good. They are rare though so I would recommend keeping it safe if you get one.

I have extremely high standards for rackets and the POG passed with flying colours.

Don't take his word for it -- he was talking about his friend's Fischer. Liam wouldn't use anything else than Ferrero's racquet and has done so since he was like 2 YO.

Hiya Liam. Was just curious about your praise of the POG mid. Few questions for you and hope you wouldn't mind answering-
-Where did you buy the POG mid since you said you couldn't get them in UK?
-How does the POG mid compare with the OS?
-How does the POG mid compare with other great rackets like the Wilson Prostaffs (say, 6.0 85/95; 6.1 classic; Head prestiges, etc...) and other Princes, eg the Diablo and NXG?
Thanks and cheerio.

Yeah LX HONDA CIVIC is correct, I have the European 100sqi POG and it is amazing.

I have 2 POG 100sqi longbodies and 2 POG mid plus's. And you think that I would actually switch to a Yonex?

I got all the rackets from Germany. The midplus has more power on serves and more spin on groundies. The OS head size is simply too big, but the 100sqi is perfect.

Compared to the other classics this one is the winner as it has the most spin and comfort and thats what I am after. It's second to Wilson 6.0 85/95, but the Prestige rackets are shocking compared to the POG as I need spin and the prestiges really don't do it for me.

The NXG is an attempt to rival the POG that failed, it's a decent racket and would replace anyother classic except for the POG. I love the classic feel and the NXG doesn't give it and it's not as comfortable. I am also not a believer in new technology.

Any more views on the Yonex?

Hope this helps!!

-Liam
