Yonex RDS001 Mid vs RQiS 1 tour vs RDS002 Tour

I decided to start playing again and I picked up a new RDS001 Mid. Overall, I like the 001 Mid. I primarily hit from the baseline and use a 1HBH.

I seen Tennis Warehouse has good prices on the RQiS 1 Tour (black/red).

From what I have read, the RQiS 1 is low powered. How does the power of the RQiS compare to the 001 Mid? How do these compare to the RDS 002?

Is the RQiS more arm friendly because of the lower flex rating.

If anyone has hit with the RQiS, RDS002 tour and the 001Mid, I would appreciate feedback.

I used to play with RDS001 Mid. Found it to be good but found it to bit too flexy frame for me. I then swtiched to RDiS 100 93. Love the stiffness of the frame offering great power and control however, I noticed when I play against 4.5 players I start to get tired on long matches.
I've been experimenting on playing other lighter racquets around 11.5 oz to 12oz - I decided to pick up a used RQiS 1 Tour. I was surprised the RQiS frame feel stiff, very simlar feel to RDiS except its a tad lighter. I noticed I was able to swing faster with the RQiS generating good power (since i am used to playing mid - moving up to 95 frame with low powered frame is not a biggy for me). Control is not an issue, its one of the best attirbute of the RQiS 95.
I've been playing against a 4.5 player every other week. He commented that he noticed a big change on my shots since I switched to RQiS and advised me not to swtich (this is after playing the RQIS for 2 months). He had to work his tail off -1bhb improved hit more winners; rallys are longer, running down every shots, my serves are faster, more spin and balls have alot more pace and kick to it.

Noticed I left out RDS002 Tour - I own a copy of the RDS002 Tour longer than the other Yonex I mentioned above. I think its a good frame as well however, I think the frame plays similar to RDS001 Mid except it offers more power. I just never got around to the muted feel of the RDS002 T. I've been playing with the RDS002 T mostly in doubles.

I just picked up a second copy RQiS.

I definitely think it boils down to personal preference - for me I like the crisp feel of the ball, a slightly stiffer frame is what I preferred.

RQiS 1 Tour - The only think that's annoying is the tinny sound when you hit the ball ; even with dampener. But when I start swinging, the tinny sounds just means I hitting the ball on the sweet spots. YEAH YES! music to my hears....

I don't have any experience with the RDS 001 mid (yet!), but I've owned both the 002 Tour and the RQiS 1 Tour. I'm more of an all-courter than a baseliner, but I've made significant improvement in my baseline game in recent years and I like to rally with a one-handed backhand more than a two-hander.

As a "reformed serve and volleyer", I took to the 002 Tour in a big hurry because of it's snappy response, decent weight, and quick handling. For doubles or serve and volley singles work, it was wonderful for me. I still have my old ProStaff 6.1 Classics, which are my all time champs for S&V or doubles, and since the 002 Tours didn't really surpass them, I didn't keep them.

Despite different stringings, I did find more of a challenge getting good spin production with the 002 Tours, so my baseline consistency with those frames was rather frustrating. They can be rather hot when the ball catches the sweet spot, so even with tighter strings, I'd hit more flyers with it than I could tolerate. What may be an excellent alternative to this frame is the RD Ti 80, but it's a new re-issue that carries a big price tag.

If you prefer heftier racquets, the RQiS 1 Tour may seem to be no more than a heavy middleweight for you. I like frames in the neighborhood of 12.5 oz. or maybe more, but the RQiS 1 Tour was lacking that weight and stability before I put some lead on the hoop. That made a really big difference for me. This racquet has a stiff hoop and a flexible throat, so it has crisp feel without the excess power that can come with a stiff frame. I'd actually say that it's very much a control racquet with a terrific soft (yet crisp) feel at contact. Arm friendly? Yes. While it's not a cannon, it's easy to swing and the spin and accuracy that it produces on my strokes is certainly confidence inspiring.

From what I've gathered in terms of feedback on all these frames, I'll bet that the RDS 001 will be a lot of fun when I finally try it and if you like to swing a 12+ oz. racquet yourself, I'd give that one the "first look". If the spec's on the RQiS 1 Tour look more to your liking, that one is a terrific plush hitter that can easily be tuned to a somewhat heavier layout.

I switched to the RQis 1 tour from a Head Speed MP a couple of months ago and the experience has been a little up and down. I started having some shoulder pain and was experiencing a bit of the underpowered reputation of the frame. I definitely felt a major difference in the frame weight although specs show them pretty close in weight. I had to start experimenting with different string set ups to try and eliminate shoulder pain. After a few different set ups I decided to try and add some lead and life got a whole lot better for me. After adding lead to 3 and 9 this thing came alive and felt solid with no shoulder pain. I am really loving this stick now and my 2 HBH is comfortable thanks to the long handle. I am still playing with string set up to get it absolutely perfect but if you use a multi in the mains you get plenty of pop.
