Yonex replacement grip

Does anyone know what their synthetic leather replacement grip is like? I’ve seen some things but I haven’t found what the feel is like. Does it feel like leather? Is it more cushioned but firm? Or is it just a basic grip they call synthetic leather?

Over the last few years, I have always replaced the original Yonex synthetic grips the very day I bought a new racquet. Why? Simple, using a Yonex over grip, I found when replacing the over grip the old over grip tore the surface of the the synthetic base grip.

Therefore, I would replace the original grip with a Kimony leather tape grip and use the Kimony as my base grip. Using the Kimony accomplished
4 things. One, the racquet grip size was reduced by one grip size. (my 4-1/2 grip became a 4-3/8s) Second, when I put on a Yonex Super Grap over grip and pulled it relatively tight the grip size was 4-7/16. Third when I removed an old over grip the base grip did not tear. Fourth, with the Kimony leather tape base grip the bevels were much sharper.

Works well for me. Of course, I very seldom hit out of the sweet spot, therefore, no hand, wrist, elbow, or shoulder pain.

I do the opposite and size down in my Yonex grip but use a thicker base grip. Angell pro hybrid for me.

To the original question, I find the synthetic leather grip from the famous New York stringer is much higher quality yet similar in thickness to the Yonex original grip. Might be worth a try.

I’ve been using Yonex Leather on all of my Ezone 98s, but they’re tearing up my hands way too much, especially in these winter months with general skin dryness. Additionally, I’m leaning more towards just wanting to add weight to the very bottom of the frame rather than distributed all the way up the handle, but this is a very very minor difference for a rec hack like me.

I bought the AC126 and the AC128
Both are referred to as synthetic leather. There is nothing leather like about them. They’re absolutely just synthetic grips. Bad marketing name, very misleading. Alas, I don’t really care. I bought them because I wanted something softer.
The 128 is just the original grip with a sticky back. I believe the factory grip does not have sticky tape on the back and is applied with some sort of adhesive spray.

I could be wrong but the 126 is what some of their oversize frames come with.

On Yonex website the thickness for both are listed as 1.6 but on the boxes the 126 is 1.5mm and the 128 as 1.6mm. These are both fairly thin for synthetic base grips. Definitely not the thinnest product out there though. I’d say that’s likely Tourna Pro Thin. That is far more of a “synthetic leather” than either of these two.

Either way I’m happy enough with my purchase and look forward to hitting with them side by side with my leather grips.

Lastly because Yonex has no buttcap flare I’m thinking a slightly cushier grip might actually help gripping the racquet without muscling the grip.

Just checked Angell's website, this one looks good. Weight is unfortunately not mentioned, do you have an idea by any chance? Thanks :)
