Yonex SHT 308 Clay Blue - Any opinions?

hey guys,

I'm looking at buying a new pair of clay court shoes and I've been looking at the Yonex SHT 308 Clay blue's.

I've heard good things about Yonex's clay sole, and I was wondering if anybody else has had any experience with this shoe and this sole? Also be good to know what you think of the blue colour... It's a bit out there in its colour... haha

I don't have any experience with that shoe, but I love Yonex shoes. I always have a pair of 304s as my match shoes.

In general, Yonex should be good clay court shoes. The hard courts chew up the soles on the regular Yonex fairly quickly. I'm sure you'll get much more durability out of the clay court versions if you stay on clay.

Yonex Clay

This shoe has the same Clay court sole pattern as the previous model (307) it replaces. The 307 came on top of every consumer test conducted in France and Germany over the last few years.

Apparently, the specifically designed sole offers more traction and stability whist still enabling slide than standard herringbone pattern. the shoe was also favourably noted for its exceptional comfort.

I have the previous version and they are some of the best clay court shoes on the market. Good comfort, good fit, and great traction. I would definitely get a pair if I were you. I think the blue colors rocks! Wish they had one in all red though.

I've never been a fan of the colors of Yonex shoes, but I have loved my 307s, both the clay and all court models. The new 308s are more out there in the look, but it appears they shaved off more weight.

The clay sole is awesome on the dirt and if you don't mind the blue color, I believe you'll really like the performance.

I bought a pair of 308's from TW, i will get it next tues
307's clay were Great. regular one is good too. but this 308 is supposed to be an improvement. Slightly lighter which is exactly what they needed.

I found a pair of Feather's and I'm faced with a tough decision to either buy the Feathers or the Yonex's!!!

I just tried on the 308 yesterday and it feels just as stiff as previous models...
I remember trying out the 304s and really liking them, they felt so light & springy.. But these are anything but...
Or is it just me? Somehow the shape of the Yonex shoes isn't the best for my feet.
I definitely couldn't play my brand of tennis in these clogs...

I've tried both. Both offer great traction, but I found the Feathers really tore up the Har Tru clay surface. They also were pretty narrow IMO,

i own 307s and they are reallllly good.i dont tend to play too much clay a year, but everytime so far traction was good. thinking about getting one more all courtsole 307s (the gold white ones) before they disappear cuz they are, as mentioned above, really comfortable.

Told ya'. Glad you like them. I'll probably pick some up when clay season rolls around in a couple months.

SAme here. It is the most comfortable shoes right out of the box i have ever had. Nike makes some nice shoes too, but they just can't beat these yonex in comfort dept.
Also they have improved the lateral stabilities over the last version. this is great news for ankle protection. and I feel like i can move 10% better
