Yonex Sonicage 3 Wide

@TW Staff, any information on the Sonicage 3 Wide arrival date? The Yonex site says 'Launching September 2022'. I presumed it would coincide w/ the US Open, but I presumed wrong(ly?)...

Also, would you happen to know if you'll be carry this colorway?

The Sonicage 2 Wide are the perfect fit for me, but I'm waiting to see if I they've changed the fit of the 3s, and if so, are they still good for me, or should I stock up on (the boring white/black) 2s.
 
Hello @McLovin,

We do have an order placed for the wide version and that blue/black colorway, but it is tentatively expected to arrive in mid November. We have not received any to try on ahead of time, so I can't comment on any changes in fit.

We will be launching the updated Yonex Sonicage 3 on November 21st (and that includes the WIDE in the Blue / Black color)!

As of now, it looks like this will be a presale and they are not yet in our warehouse, but hoping to receive them by the end of the month!

I’ll do a mini-review in the Shoes section and compare to my Sonicage 2 Wide.
 
Excellent new colorway. I am looking forward to McLovin's (and TW) review of the model 3. I am a big fan of version 2 as well.

Looks like I'm going to have to wait another month. My order has been delayed until Dec 30th. Not really a bad thing as my current rotation of 2 pairs are still holding up well, and I know I'd be impatient and put the new ones on right away if I had them. But, still...

They arrived last week. Unfortunately, I didn’t get to hit this weekend, and I crushed my left finger between a 55lb and 65lb dumbbell yesterday at the gym. 8 stitches, so I may be out for a few weeks (unless I hit 1-handed backhands).

I’d say similar. Tough to say exactly as I didn’t put my ankle braces on, but I did pull out a fresh pair of 2s and tried them on at the same time. Maybe a bit more room in the heel? But again, I’d not take anything I say to heart just yet. I need to run around on court first to make a real comparison.

I've only been out a few times of late as a few days after I posted the above, I sandwiched my left ring finger between a 55lb dumbbell and a 65lb dumbbell. It wasn't pretty, required 5 stitches, and just as I began feeling better gripping the racquet, I got hit w/ some sort of sickness/lung infection. Barely getting any sleep the last week as I wake up in a fit of coughing every 5 minutes (not an exaggeration...my wife kicked me out of the bedroom...).

So, long story short, I'm heading to Colorado for a ski trip this Saturday, and when I get back I'll hopefully get to log more time on the court.

So I was finally able to get some decent time in w/ the new 3s (my cough turned into pneumonia, btw. Put me on my butt for another week).

Overall, I think its a solid replacement for the 2s, maybe not as wide in the forefoot, but for the most part a really comfortable shoe. However...I don't think I'll be buying another pair. I'm having the same issue I had w/ a version of the Barricades. I can't remember if it was the 7s, or another version, but essentially something is rubbing on the knuckle on my right "index" toe, and I'm getting a blister. I don't necessarily think it's a defect in the shoe, it's something w/ my foot, as it only happens on my right foot (same issue w/ the Barricades: right index toe).

Time to load up on the 2s...

well the 2s are on sale right now on TW!
also note the 3s have a extra wide (4e) version, the plus.
