Yonex supergrap durability issues?

I’m very disappointed by the durability of Supergrap. It barely stands a 2h match. When I’m lucky I can get 2h more out of it before it starts tearing apart.
I read so many good reviews here but definitely durability is problematic.
Xtremsoft was my go to OG for years, but I wanted a lighter and thicker OG for my current racquet.
I tried tecnifibre contact pro and it’s by far a better product. Might stick with it, but they only do 12x packages ?

I was going to recommend Pro Contact from Tecnifibre, it last longer. I just buy the $17.95 pack from TW. Also, look into the Solinco overgrip. I have not yet personally tried but some of the guys did a playtest for it and were saying it was on par with Pro Contact. Only qualm was the wrapping was a pain to open (which is just splitting hairs imo).

SuperGrap if dry will break down quickly. In winter months when the temp is low and my hands don't sweat, I get about 1 match out of an overgrip. During summer time when my hand sweats very much and it keeps the overgrip damp, they last me for several sessions.

That’s interesting, I just switched over to Yonex and decided to give the over grips a try as well. I actually like Supergrap, I find them to to be just the right amount of tacky and I Ike how thin they are also. I normally prefer dry feeling grips, I’ll see how they feel when the summer starts.

I like the feel and the overall quality...while it last. That’s what I’m disappointed, because I can see what it could be if only a bit more durable.
I get the dry argument, I’ve also noticed OG last longer during summer. Supergrap might do a better job in that season.
Well thanks fellow TT friends, I have now a new OCD to live with o_O:-D : which OG depending of the weather !!

which color supergrap? the black one was very fragile and started coming apart after maybe 30 minutes. I'm currently using the white supergrap and those have stayed intact until they're too slippery and mushy to use.

Give ADV grips a try. Super happy with mine. I want to try Supergrap (used it in badminton and was great), but I have a hard time giving up the ADV when it's working.

I was using ADV, they are really good overgrips, I used to actually use the reverse side which was dry. Just be aware that they, are on the thicker a side. I switched to Yonex Supergrap because I wanted a thinner overgrip.

I bought a PS 6.0 (early China) and decided to go full Pistol Pete, put Tourna leather and Tourna grip, what a disaster !! This blue thing is ultimate crap, does pros have some pro stock version of it haha??
It's really good if you have sweaty palms, arguably one of the best. However, it's notorious for its poor durability. I'm pretty sure pros are using the same Tourna Grip that we do, they're just rich enough to not have to care about its durability.

What are some good alternatives to Supergrap? I like Supergrap and it's my main grip for colder weather, but am open to trying other ones.

What is ADV ? Is It the company behind those Uber expensive science based grips ?

-Wilson pro grip is a comparable option for the yonex version https://www.tennis-warehouse.com/Wilson_Pro_Overgrip_Sensation/descpageWILSON-PROGS.html
-babolat has a nice one recently https://www.tennis-warehouse.com/Babolat_Tour_Original_Overgrip/descpageBAB-BTOOVE3.html
-gamma came up with a good one this year https://www.tennis-warehouse.com/Gamma_Supreme_Overgrip/descpageGAMMA-GSO.html

I've tried Wilson Pro, like it a lot.

Never tried the Babolat one, seems like it's pretty new.

Gamma Supreme is fine, but I don't like how the Gamma logo is emblazoned onto the grip.

I've heard good things about Tecnifibre Pro Players/Contact, as well as Solinco Wonder. How do those compare?

I've been a Supergrap user for the last 5 years, and Wilson Pro before that. But this summer I was part of the Tecnifibre HDMX playtest, and they sent along a free sample of the Pro Contact, and I haven't looked back since. As others have noted, similar feeling to Supergrap & Pro, but lasts a hell of a lot longer. I'm basically putting a new one on every time I restring (7-8 matches, or around 10 hours of play).

My only gripe is that is barely makes it to the top of the handle (VCORE 98 +). I used to wrap Supergrap around the butt cap twice to give it more flare, but that's impossible w/ Pro Contact. Luckily I found an alternative method of building up the butt cap: Tourna Power Cap w/ the end cut off.

I find the Wilson Pro more tacky and thinner. Same factory apparently but different feel.
I like the slight cushion that Supergap gives.

The durability is exactly why I stopped using Supergrap. I was replacing overgrips every time I went out to hit.

I switched to Tourna-Tac. My hands don't sweat almost at all, but I've found that these are almost as good as Supergrap in the feel department, but durability is 10x longer. The ugly blue color lasts the longest, too.

Tourna Mega Tac is by far the most durable tacky overgrip I have used. It's way tackier to start off, then as it loses tac it becomes a soft rubbery feel. Never tears or shreds like Wilson Pro or Yonex Supergrap does. Give it a try you might like it.

Note, Mega Tac and regular Tourna Tac are different things.

I actually didn't like MegaTac when compared to Tourna Tac. Mega Tac felt like the grip was actually wet.
Yeah a few people I have given some too have said that. I like both Mega Tac and regular Tac offerings, but I keep going back to Mega Tac purely because it lasts over twice as long for me. Maybe even three times as long.

I switched to the Wilson Pro from Babolat. I have never liked the Tourna texture or feel myself. Wilson Pro Grip lasts quite a bit longer than Babolat Syntec Pro, is a tad thicker and the best part is it's cheap in the 60 pack. The only downside is that it's white, which gets gross faster than it loses its tackiness.

I couldn't test mega tacs durability cuz I had to swap it out for tourna Tac but it's good to know the durability is excellent.

Also I've gotten used to the ugly blue color. I refuse to use white grips, just cuz they get brown and gross and I hate that look

The tack of Yonex and Wilson wear out ridiculously fast. I get about 30 to 45 min of tacky feel then it really loses its performance. Surprised more people don't complain about that. But agree with others that Mega Tac is extremely durable and I can attest to the fact that the tacky feel lasts what seems like forever.

I like that sometimes too but the sticky from the tacky towels tears up my OG even quicker. I think the rosin powder works a little better in conjuntion with the OG's.
